Thanx @Ivin! The paddock stand was for 5.4k. It is adjustable for most bikes with a double sided swingarm; you can use it even if you dont have swingarm spools; a padded attachment comes along just in case!

Yeah... loved the rim stripes as well! Had picked them on Ebay and shipped over to a friend in the states who got them here... along with the frame and swingarm sliders! saved quite a bit on the shipping part! best of both worlds i guess!

Well it was a combination of eating their heads and stroke of luck... sort of jumped the queue coz one of the owners who had booked his lime green kwacker was out of town for a couple of weeks... they offered it to me provided I made a full payment asap.... which i promptly did! hehe...

regards the oil...I thought so as well!! I spoke to the probiking technician as well; he confirmed that this is the correct oil. So far I have nothing to complain about! The performance is fantastic; especially after the oil change... love the way she pulls!

I got the frame sliders and swing arm spools from the states through a friend. They cost me around 4.5k altogether.

                        • Yesterday I slightly modified the paddock stand of my R15 resulting in a wonderful stand for my Ninja. All these saturdays/sundays when I didn't have college I used to day dream which slightly paid off. It's not such a big DIY but the stand is handy enough and you can save a few thousands. It's the R15 race stand that costs just rs1500. slight modification of rs94 and you have a paddock stand for your Ninja. I will spray paint it so that it looks neat. Now no problems in lubing the chain/ cleaning the bike/opening the fairings/carrying out minor mods.
                          Here are a few pics.

thanks to my dad for sending the stand to me from my hometown.

                              • A 300 km + run ...

                                Hi guyz,

did a Pune-Mumbai-Pune run a couple of days back.. it was a good experience... havent really ridden at 55 kmph for 3 hours at a stretch in a long time!

Started at around 0540 hrs in the mrng; the air has definitely started to get chillier in the mrngs now. I was in full gear and the Joe Rocket jacket cut off most of the wind chill... it was a pleasant feeling under the hood!

Took the Mumbai-Pune bypass road and then joined up the old pune-mumbai road. There were the usual suspects; the big trailer trucks and the odd car; I suspect most of the 4 wheelers use the expressway these days. Its is good in a way; allows us more room on the roads...

I made a stop after entering the ghats and had a nice morning cuppa at a stall... the guy was still not fully up and running though... had to cajole and convince him to make me a cutting chai...!

The climbdown from the ghats caused a peculiar problem; heavy fog and dew / condensation on the helmet visor. The visor needed a wipe every few minutes to ensure optimum visibility. I had to slow down to about 40 kmph as the visibility was hardly over 50 mtrs at some places...

The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful; although an a^&$%^e trucker did spray paint me with his paan!! Disgusting man! Lost another 10 minutes or so cleaning up the mess... uuuggghhh!

The traffic at Chembur was horrible; I spent 10 minutes at one place and no one seemed remotely interested in moving! The temp guage steadily rose to almost 75% on the scale and I was getting a wee bit worried. But it settled at that point and seemed to be maintaining that temperature. I guess the cooling system is quite effective in bumper to bumper traffic after all!

Reached home around 0930 hrs in the morning. Since she was still under the 4k rpm running in period, I could not manage to get more than 55-60 kmph but did make good time in the end i guess! The odo now showed 685 km.

Spent the day with friends and family and decided to get underway again at 1700 hrs in the evening for the run back to Pune.

I managed to get caught at Chembur again in the traffic; there is no beating that in Mumbai! There is currently some flyover and road construction work on in Panvel, as a result of which they have routed the entire traffic through Panvel city; and it is a mess!! It really gave a good work out to the ninjette's suspension set up and I was feeling more like being in a MotoX rally rather than being on a tarmac road... !

The climb up the ghats was great... the stock bulbs of the ninja do provide more than adequate illumination to light up the way... it was pleasure running up the hill; the rev happy engine singing away beautifully!
It was pretty smooth progress after that until I joined the common portion of the Expressway. The heavy truck traffic was causing jams on the ghat section. The baby kwacker though made light of it all, carving through the traffic with ease!

I got a bit carried away and overshot the exit from the expressway; by the time i realized that, it was too late to turn back! So I continued on the Expressway till the Karla exit. I was a bit apprehensive and half-expecting a welcoming committee (read as cops!) but the 2 guys on the toll booth were just lazing around and least bit interested; even the toll gate was up; needless to say, i did not press the matter further and zipped by!
Gee... i hope none of the traffic cops are reading this one! hehe...
The odo showed 800 km + during the run on the expressway and I was quite happy to push her up to 6k rpm and maintaining a speed of 80 kmph+.. (at least i was complying with the speed limit part!! )

On the mumbai-pune bypass road, a P-220 rider did try to rile me into a race. Ignored him though... the guy was not wearing any sort of gear at all, wearing floaters and no lid . I dunno whom he was trying to impress; but his dangerous antics on the road it was a real sad thing to see... ... I guess these are the type of people who give genuine riders like us a bad image!

The rest of the trip was uneventful and I reached home at 2100 hrs in the evening.. A nice cold beer at the end of it all... a fitting end to an absolutely wonderful day of riding! Wouldnt you say??

                                Attaching a few pics...

Next up; Ride to Hyderabad and back!
