    hmmmmmmm....
    that can happen....

but still yaar i never faced any such issues with the polish to my new bike and cars....

      The problems now are,
      1) 0-60 timer in meter console is now working.
      2) Headlight flasher switch has gone kaput (maybe due to the slight rain it met)
      3) Irritating "zzzzz" sound from rear disk brake when even on slight braking. do others have any such experience? )
      4) Fuel efficiency is 43. (how much can i expect on sedate riding?? )
      5) Tappet sound has increasingly increased when compared to earlier.
highlighted is problem? are you alright?
i regularly ride in range of 70to 105 kmph. I am getting efficiency of 44 on RTR on current rich mix and 52 on exact mix. Run the bike on rich mixture for first 6-7k kms. it makes way difference. tappet noise is also low due to lower heating.

i used carnuba wax on my fiero for 8 years once evry month, ditto on my apache Fi and my cars....nothin happened dude.....
carnauba does job great if used reglarly once a month or two. it will remove the color coat a bit on open paint. if you polish regularly, it wont remove the color b'cos of previous leyer of polish. try polishing it on open paint, you will find the polish sponge collecting the color on.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

may be i didnt noticed that.....

tht means from now only pure wax and no carnuba......

i am using waxpol. its pure wax and last almost 5-6 months. i wax all my bikes and car once b4 monsoon and once after monsoon. though it takes much of muscle and 1 hour for each bike, that is worth spending twice a year.

Check the air filter. It may be having junk which may hinder the smooth air flow!

ill check it out in the morning...if that doesnt solve the problem, off to the service center. I just came back from the movies and it seemed ok, but still thought it was a bit jumpy at low speeds.

You got it just about right. But the word "smooth finish" is not exactly accurate here. What you will get is a glossier surface as the old dull upper surface is abraded.

Carnuba is a type of wax!

I don't think any product will last 5 - 6 months... at least not in our kind of conditions!

hey! it wasn't my explanation. i was just trying to elaborate on what racoon might have meant. all credit to him for the gyaan. i have no idea about these waxes really. next i'll have carnuba fanboy lovers waxing me !

anyway, all you need to do is find out if the wax is an abrasive type and avoid using that. rest should be ok. i also vaguely remember something about good old molybdenum waxes for that super slick finish. don't remember any details.

Actually that was a typo the timer is "not" (instead of "now") working.

btw what you mean by rich and exact mixture? carb tuning? or speed & normal petrol difference? my bike is an fi.

Carnuba is perfectly fine, as long as it does not have an abrasive content. You can also try polymer based stuff like F1 Shine it All (haven't yet tried it myself). However, waxes are supposed to give a better shine... and Turtle wax (something like hard shell) is supposed to be amongst the best. I haven't been able to find it anywhere in Pune however. If anybody here knows where it is available, please let me know.

rich mixture is lower A:F ratio and exact is near to 13. lean is more than 14 ratio. In case of Fi, get the co levels set higher by svc, it will put in richer mix. though u will suffer lower kmpl figures, it will help in keeping the engine from overheating, till the bore clearance reaches about 50 microns (about to 5000-6000kms)

Secondly, has anyone tried fitting in Fi's exhaust on RTR? or removal of catcon from existing exhaust? I am planning to replace mine with Fi's and blocking of secondary air intake.
