The wiring of eFI was retained. They didn't remove any parts of eFI including ECU. So if in future I get spares, I have the option of going back to eFi. Carburettor added but On-off-reserve switch not installed.
It cost Rs.3500 for labour, spares and routine service.
I have already done 5000 kilometres after the conversion and no problems so far. My Odo is 56,000 km. Bought in early 2010.

    Update:
In this 1.5 years after converting to Carburettor, I have covered 23,000km. I have not faced any major problems.

I booked Apache RTR 200 Carburettor ABS with Smart X Connect (BS4) White colour. Awaiting delivery in 2-3 weeks. I am going to pass on my RTR 160 Fi to my younger brother for his local trips (he owns a car).

When I test rode the RTR 200, I couldn't experience substantial increase in power or torque. Only a minor increase. But I decided to stick with TVS and went for RTR200 only for safety- Dual Channel ABS as I am content with the power and torque of even my 160cc.

The reason I went with Carburettor was that from BS6 onwards, every bike will come with Fuel Injector. As I live in a rural area, I preferred the easy repairability of Carburettor. Also BS6 Fi is costlier than Rs.10500 than BS4 Carburettor and also has 5% lesser power and torque.

    Cheers.

    2. If you live around a city, there will be no problem. You drive into the workshop at the first hint of any problem. I was living in a remote area when the fuel injection began to fail. So I had a difficult time and had to get my motorcycle towed to nearest city, rich was good 60km. In rural and remote areas, carburettor makes sense as even a local mechanic can fix it.
    3. Fuel injection was more fuel efficient, by 3-5kmpl. But pickup and engine exhaust sound are the same.

Maybe experienced members here can help you better to decide.

Yeah one great advantage in FI is fuel can't be stolen LoL,as the fuel prices are skyrocketing daily, I fear of that knob (easily fuel can be stolen!)

I reside in a big town neither a City nor a village .

But carb variant is a way cheaper around Rs. 7,000 than FI so it's better to choose the carb I hope so !!

If a simple calculation is made , with that 7K money, I would rather fill the fuel of 80 Litres ~ assuming mileage as 45 km/pl that can munch around 3400+ kms !!!

Or simply spend it on Helmet, gloves. rather!

    Am I thinking wisely ?? IDK !!![emoji41][emoji848][emoji848]

    Seniors need your help !!

    Thanks .

The service engineer recommend me to convert my Fuel injector into carburettor using carburettor of RTR 160 as parts are not available.
Are there any cons to convert my Fi to carburettor?

Any of these signs show any problem with the FI system?

During the initial days I have reported the issue to the SVC and it seemed they have no clue about it. Told me there is no issue.

You have to ensure that the petrol pump is a well managed one. Faced problems twice due to water and mud in petrol because of which I had to replace the fuel pump. Just this year I am facing problems due to wiring issues; facing regular fuse blow-outs. Service Centre guys are saying it is the old wiring that is causing the problems. With respect to reliability, I feel it depends on how rough is your handling. I am more of a smooth rider but I love to go above 100 whenever the road permits. I have read many complaints with respect to FI performance but thankfully I have never faced such issues. It would also depend on how proficient is your service centre. I had found a good one near my office which kept my bike in tip top condition. Most of the Service Centre guys are not adept in handling, tuning and maintaining the FI Setup and that is what is causing the problems for many owners here.
Riding FI since July 2008,initially the bike did have some power lag issues but TVS replaced ECU, injector and fuel pump in 2009 itself. Since then she performed flawless, had been to several long rides like Delhi-Pune and several extreme rides to upper Himalayas without any issue. However, recent FI models came in with Bosch FI systems while mine was equipped with Delphi system. Therefore, there is an acute shortage as TVS just do not stock Delphi FI parts now citing very limited no. of Delphi system bikes.

It was a costly affair for me and i would not go down the path of conversion without proper knowledge.
How much you paid for conversion? As TVS SVC recommending the same to me as they are not able to source the Fuel pump module for my bike.
