Update:
In this 1.5 years after converting to Carburettor, I have covered 23,000km. I have not faced any major problems.
I booked Apache RTR 200 Carburettor ABS with Smart X Connect (BS4) White colour. Awaiting delivery in 2-3 weeks. I am going to pass on my RTR 160 Fi to my younger brother for his local trips (he owns a car).
When I test rode the RTR 200, I couldn't experience substantial increase in power or torque. Only a minor increase. But I decided to stick with TVS and went for RTR200 only for safety- Dual Channel ABS as I am content with the power and torque of even my 160cc.
The reason I went with Carburettor was that from BS6 onwards, every bike will come with Fuel Injector. As I live in a rural area, I preferred the easy repairability of Carburettor. Also BS6 Fi is costlier than Rs.10500 than BS4 Carburettor and also has 5% lesser power and torque.

Thanks Arwin, i got to know that, in Salem also some people are doing it. Anyhow I'm running with FI, and let it go until dies. I need fuel injector and filter before the fuel injector for spare purposes. I reside in a big town neither a City nor a village .
But carb variant is a way cheaper around Rs. 7,000 than FI so it's better to choose the carb I hope so !!
If a simple calculation is made , with that 7K money, I would rather fill the fuel of 80 Litres ~ assuming mileage as 45 km/pl that can munch around 3400+ kms !!!
Or simply spend it on Helmet, gloves. rather!
Am I thinking wisely ?? IDK !!![emoji41][emoji848][emoji848]

1. Did you flashes (remapped) your ECU ? I have heard doing so will cost the engine damage !
2.Do you hope carburetor variant is much easy to maintain than the FI variant ?

I got a new RTR 200 FI for myself this April. Bike feels flawless most of the time.

Riding FI since July 2008,initially the bike did have some power lag issues but TVS replaced ECU, injector and fuel pump in 2009 itself. Since then she performed flawless, had been to several long rides like Delhi-Pune and several extreme rides to upper Himalayas without any issue. However, recent FI models came in with Bosch FI systems while mine was equipped with Delphi system. Therefore, there is an acute shortage as TVS just do not stock Delphi FI parts now citing very limited no. of Delphi system bikes.Originally posted by prashantbhat25 View PostI have been using FI since 2009 now.
