    oil grade -20w40 but you can go for 10w40 ,15w40 , 5w40 [good for v. cold temp regions ] also .

      After all searching and failing for Castrol racing Power 1, i settled for Mobil1 0W40 full synthetic oil. The bike is now a bit sluggish but smooth over high RPMs. Any idea how to judge Engine's health? Does a dyno reading indicates anything substantial ?

        Pundrick,is the oil JASO MA ..if yes whats the full name, I have got hold of a Mobil Dealer in Noida and his product sheet doesnt mention any synthetic oil for 2wheelers in India.

            Did you try the castrol oil dealer in himayathnagar??

            last week when my friend enquired abt it he said it would arrive in 5 days!

              I am on 10W40, but really for our conditions the 20W50 made more sense....
              Oh BTW I have a broken handle bar weight on my RTR, and that thing some how is making me do power wheelies! (ok no exaggeration but good small poppies)

              Did I fk upped the TPS? or is it something else....
              One more thing, the Throttle remains stuck at the RPM i take it to...! a La Cruise Control Style!

                  I fell at 5KMPH (bloody tyre slip in muck... hate those rubbers now)

                  the Bar weight is now half in and half out, that causes the struck throttle syndrome.....i am not doing anything new, but still the bike jumps as if i did a clutch-less shift! I got no clue on what messed up!

                    I didn't check there. lets wait and hope it comes there. BTW Normal Power1 has no SAE rating written on it. Any clue why it is so?

                      Buddy, that looks like car oil. I would say get rid of it ASAP. The bike might feel smooth, but it wont revv freely.

                          I had a fall on my bike while doing a wheelie. After that fall something happened and cannot be found out. When the bike gets warm and i speed it over 7000 rpm there is a very harsh vibration no one is able to figure it out and it feels very irritating. The vibrations were like slowly getting lesser day by day but after the free service it is vibrating even more and bike has lost its low end performance.
                          Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

                            Is anyone owning a 07 RTR having trouble with the forks??

                            Of late the forks get loosened up frequently and could hear the thak tahk sound whenever i go over a pothole or under hard braking.

                            It stays good only for abt 10-20kms after i get it fixed. SVC guys say this problem is common in all 07 RTR's!

                            Is anyone facing the same problem?

                              I have a 07 RTR but didnt face any such issues..... check for the forks and the headlight fairing.... usually the sound comes from the headlight which is loosely mounted.... + RTR has a liking to lose out screws and bolts.....

                              check if you lost tooth in your sprocket.... or if the chain has got a bit loosened up...
                              where do you feel the vibes now, on your handle bar or footrest... just check the above to points and tighten up the foot rest they will help reduce the vibes..
