What does Oil Cooling have to do with long trips?

I'd ridden my CT100B around the country clocking about 8000 km's in under 2 weeks without breaking a sweat.

So simply put the manufacturer knows best and the lack of an oil cooler doesn't mean a motorcycle is less tour-worthy.

I was waiting for Bajaj Avenger 220 Street BS6, Since I wanted to purchase it with Fuel Injector.

Now Bajaj has already announced BS6 Version of 220 Cruise and 160 Street, So I want to know whether they will launch 220 Street or not???

Today when I checked Bajaj Auto's website, There they have removed page of 220 Street as well.

I wasn't looking at 160 Street since it does not have Oil cooling and I was planning some long trips on it.

And for 220 Cruise, the only thing left out is Tubeless tyres.

Please share your review, whether Bajaj will launch Street 220 or not and if not then for which option I shall go?

Actually, I do not much about it. It is faulty or what, recently there was raining on NCR . but to which there is moisture I suppose in there. the battery sign and high beam sign is gone now , permanently.
I am taking my bike to a repair shop soon to fix these issues.

Generally, battery voltage low indicator will be lit when ignition is on. Once engine starts, it will go off.

If it glows while engine is running, there might be problem with charging system or the battery should be charged.

Hello Guys,
What is the deal of low indicator sign.
When bike's power on then low indicator sign come up when the battery is new, when engine starts low indicator sign turn off. Is this any sort of issue?
If no then how do we that battery is drained out?

Hi fellow BHPians, i have a 2019 Avenger 220. I'd like to change my tyres as i feel the grip on the present ones is really bad. Any suggestions as to which ones Will be good?!

Nowadays there are many changes in rules & regulations for Automobiles in India. Government is pushing Automobile manufacturers in india to go electric without any proper infrastructure. Bajaj's policy is to keep legacy products alive, keeps launching variants for shirt terms. Look at Avenger series only 220 is still in production, 150,160,180 have short term product life cycle for Bajaj. Consider 220 street/classic for long term parts availability. I own 150 street for 2.5 yrs. Only problem I after a 1 yr was gear shifter spring stopped working, got replaced after making lot of noise in service center typical Bajaj. Rear brake pads gets changed after 2000 kms. Scheduled maintenance will keep your Avenger trouble free. What exactly are your requirement. I would suggest you to get atleast dual channel ABS bike. Also keep in mind bike is just one part of riding. Proper riding gears does help a lot. Also safety accessories like knuckle guard does save rider in small mishaps. My hands were saved twiced in city accidents.

Certain imp questions
1.Oil changes at ?? Kms
2.Which oil: Bajaj or other brand
3.How much oil was specified on oil bottle

Now its normal for the oil viewing glass to be filled completely when the bike is parked on main stand for long time(2-3 hrs)

As per manual, oil level should be in between upper(max) & lower level (min). If its right upto upper level. Drive for 20 kms, after that if you smell like oil is burned especially from engine exhaust, then remove excess oil(50ml should suffice) . But i don't think you have any excess oil in your bike.

From my personal experience, where my mechanic accidentally poured wrong engine oil (20w40 instead of 20w50)with wrong quantity (1.2l instead of 1 litre) burnt oil smell was coming also engine gets hot lot faster. Oil starts to leak from above sparkplug. So be careful.

Certain imp tips
1)Use mineral oil till your bike reaches 5000 kms
2)After 5,000 kms, use Motul 3100 20w50 semi synthetic oil for interval of 3,000 kms
3)After 18,000 kms use Motul 7100 20w50 Fully synthetic oil for interval of 4,000 kms
4) Use Engine flush before changing oil, pour 50ml in engine, keep it running for 3-5 minutes, then let the engine cool a little before removing engine oil.
5) Clean fuel tank after every 5,000 kms
6) After engine oil change wash the lower portion of your bike especially near the engine drain nut. Certain amount of old engine oil sticks near that drain nut. I ignored it for 12,000 kms only to find that oil starts leaking since drain nut get loose.
7)Never put incorect grade & quantity.

Hi Gurus,

I have a Avenger 220 Cruise which I drive quite rarely. In one year it's done just 600 Kms. I do make it a point to clean and drive it for a short distance every weekend. The bike has been serviced as per schedule and is perfectly fine except when starting.

Whenever I start it, it have to leave it idling for almost 5 minutes otherwise as soon as I give accelerator the engine shuts down. This was not happenning earlier but started after the second service. I think the service folks adjusted the carb Fuel Volume screw.

I don't want to go back to the service center as they may spoil something else, my confidence on them is low.

My question is: Do we know what is the factory setting for the Fuel Volume (Air/Fuel) screw for the Bajaj Avenger 220. How many turns is it opened from the full close position? Any help will be really appreciated.

Hi, today I changed my engine oil of my avenger 150 using a local mechanic. Now when I check the oil level, the viewing glass is fully covered. If I run the engine while in center stand, the oil level stands at the max mark, after switching it off it gradually fills the whole screen. So should I drain the excess oil or would it not be a problem till the next oil change?

It will solve the problem, as switch will prevent any accessory from draining battery. First, get the switch on the phone charger, it's a must. Then, switch off the charger supply and just let the GPS be connected to battery and see if your bike still starts next Monday.
