None of the 4 M1s were started that evening. So, my desire of listening to the uneven firing order goes down the drain. It has to wait.

There's something about a Ducati Desmosedici (GP13). And there's something about a Honda RCV (RC213V) too. When their engines are ignited and running, it's pure bliss - orgasmic! The Ducati is loud, very loud, lethal and gorgeous. It's a proper old school GP bike. Honda is loud too but, there's a great charm in it. It is the best sounding machine in the paddock. There’s nothing in this world that sound like these two. Guaranteed. Of course, M1 has a very distinct exhaust but, it isn't as strong and monstrous as Desmo and RCV.

Now, the main course of my Thursday's log!

Alex Briggs himself is a part of the MotoGP circus and yet, can’t hide his excitement. Divided by teams but united by passion.

Well, what are the 3 HRC blokes doing at FUN & GO Honda Gresini garage?! Bautista has no support from HRC!

Wow Makky..now that was a satisfying view of the rear end
Things I noticed.
Bautista's bikes rims are cool. (reason is that stickers on mine look similar)
Honda's gear change is hard to be heard without any hearing aid. It's actually that smooth.
Look at the Yamaha guy trying to find out some kind of clue to that amazing gearbox Didn't even have time to bring in earplugs. +1 to Makky for focusing him.
I've heard these bikes together, but not alone like Makky did, so about Ducati, it sounds similar to it's road going sports bikes like the 1198 n all but way louder. While the Honda is sweet as you say, like an advanced, more refined version of the CBR1000RR.

About the HRC guys at GO&FUN, these teams running satellite bike have 2-3 engineers assigned to them every weekend to check, work and set the engines on the bikes. They also help in how to make changes, but not in what to make changes. Basically everything on the bike- like technical support . Even Tech 3 has Yamaha guys roaming around the bikes, especially Crutchlow's cos he's the one running most after factory support. Smith is still learning so his mechanics might be sufficient for him for the moment.

BTW, a fact I wanted to share. Don't exactly remember where I read it, but at Indy, Crutchlow was running a more powerful engine map on the bike compared to other M1s, but the settings used and other parts on the bike didn't allow him to be fast enough to stay with front runners. Fact is, engine is only a part of the racing machine, other components have equal significance to make the machine go faster.

Wrong, this is one of the most horrible threads on the entire forum. I mean what's wrong with this guy?
Makky: you enjoy the heaven and leave us to rot here??? with WSBK canceled, the only chance that we (your countrymen) had at seeing some genuine "SPORT" is lost...

above lines to be taken in lighter vein, but seriously speaking, just enjoyed your thread and the pictures. I'm sure the experience was something that you will cherish for life. Cool pictures there and we all actually felt as if we were visiting the paddock. Do post other pictures if you have some more.

That's Alex Briggs, Rossi's wrenchmonkee. He's surely curious about the gearbox. Usually, the earplugs are only worn by crewmen who start up the bikes and run at stand still mode.

I never wore any, wanted to suck every decibel of the exhaust.

Well, I realise now that the factory boys work even for satellite teams.

hahaha... No offence taken. Thanks!

It's a pity that none of the major races(championships) are going to be in India, thanks to the bureaucratic hurdles. And hence, many enthusiasts are robbed of the opportunity.
The experience that you go through at the GP will remain inside you for a lifetime. No doubt.

haha, agree to an extent

Till now I was admiring makky's activeness on the Motogp thread but now I salute him to take his passion to one step ahead. In doing so he gave us an insight of motogp which till now was hidden from us (or rather I never tried to find out )

You guys wont believe it that I sat in home watching Youtube videos last year when the Singapore streets were getting smoked by F1 cars (can blame me being biased to motogp these days ).

It didn't end there though. Travelling to Malaysia is like going to Pune from Mumbai still i skipped the Malaysian GP. Hope I can visit this year. Heights of laziness

For someone sitting so close to the action, I must say that you missed one of the biggest opportunities of your life..that of seeing Casey on the track. However, better late than never...do visit Sepang or at least PI this time...I will be tuned in to see a similar thread
