Re: MotoGP 2018 season discussion thread

    Hi guys,

    Motogp is back this weekend

For the first time in the season, vinales is really happy with the setup. Anti clock circuit with low grip due to dust is the ideal condition for Marc to excel. Looking forward to the Qualifying. Cheers!!

        first 7 within a second.

If Marquez doesn't bump into someone, he is winning for sure. Unless the Ducatis have a different plans.

Seems like Yamahas have manages something....

Why was he slowed in racing line during Q2 which caused vinales to back off during hot lap. 3 position penal nothing, it should have been harsher IMHO.

Kind of hard but I think Bradley did not do enough to stay there. I think he has the talents as everyone else do but he lacks the aggression and the craziness which is also required at that level. Without that you would be a backbencher.

I don't know what Xavier is doing in MotoGP. He's often a second off than the man in front of him which in most cases is another rookie! Waste of a ride.

no comments yet about today's race and that amazingly rare sort of a three-way crash ? :P

great ride from MM, and also from JL, dovi and DP until they crashed out together in a spectacular racing incident in which only dovi was the real innocent victim, and blame lies with JL and DP 50-50 or with no one at all...in any case, deprived us of a possible last lap battle between those 3..

I would say a pure racing incident. Three of them together in a tangle meant no one saw what was coming next. No wonder Dovi was livid at JL.

For a very long time, Dovi was trying to pass Lorenzo and he wasn't lucky on many occasions.. He was lucky to pass him this time & too many things happened..Guess both were on there limits.. This accident was unfortunate for all 3 riders involved..

If MM didn't have multiple penalties the previous race, he would have been further ahead in championship points..Zarco is now 2nd in championship, 12 points behind MM.. I guess he will try to push like other races and may be a spoil sport between MM & Dovi..

So do Rins and Aleix with Suzuki and Aprilia respectively.

Good insight to the Yamaha problems...

                            Mahindra's legacy

Pecco Bagnaia's victory in Moto2 uncovered another hidden strand in motorcycle racing. What do Bagnaia, who controlled Moto2 all weekend, and Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi, the two main Moto3 protagonists have in common? They are all graduates of Mahindra, having ridden the Indian machine in previous years. Being underpowered, the Mahindra taught its riders that they needed to make the difference themselves, and find extra performance in their riding instead of the bike. Those lessons stay with a rider throughout their careers, allowing them to dig deep when they have to and ride around problems. That is a skill which will turn a good rider into a great one, and help them win championships by limiting the damage on bad days and maximizing their advantages on good days. Mahindra may not have scored a huge amount of success for themselves in Grand Prix racing, but they have left a lasting legacy.

Add Miguel Oliveira to the list.

Sad that Dovi crashed in the race.. This gives MM, 36 points advantage over the next rider in championship.. That is huge.. 8 riders separated by just 13 points, and 14 more races to go.. Think, 2018 will be one crazy championship..

He is a qualified dentist by profession, unlike most other riders who have dropped out of school/ college to pursue racing. He also has a racing school setup in place in his native Portugal to train young talent. He runs that along with his father. In his interviews he comes across as far more mature than other riders his age. As such, I always root for him in Moto3 and now Moto2.
