i have seen in several place in forum that we can get bikes for rent in MMSC. is that true? what bikes can be rented? whats the cost? whats the procedure to get the rented bikes. is that TVS rent a bike scheme still available?

As the craze of motor sports in India is gaining momentum, we have been recieving a lot of queries about how to start motor sports career. So we thought that we should bring you the collated details to start your motor sports career in India. So this goes for you!!
Motor sports in India is controlled by a central body called The Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI). While the actual sports events are usually organized by various clubs in the country. The Guidelines, Technical Regulations and Common Organizing Conditions are formulated, coordinated and implemented by the Federation.
We, at India also have another association called the Motorsports Association of India (MIA) which is is the Member of the in India. It is the Association responsible for the promotion of automotive sport in India under the International Sporting Code of the FIA.
There are several types of Motor Sports events conducted by the Clubs in India. They are Circuit Racing, Rally, Motocross / Supercross, SuperMoto, Hill Climb, Dirt Track Racing, Drag Meet, Motor Gymkhana, Autocross, Karting, etc.
How to go about it?:

1. Find out the club nearest to your place of residence.
2. Become a member of the same (which is optional).
3. Decide in which category of the automobile you would like to take part i.e. two or four-wheelers.
4. Decide what type of event you would like to start participating in. Experienced members from the club will be able to guide you in this.

What are the Qualifications and Requirements?:

1. You will need the basic qualification of being over 18 years of age and possession of a valid driving license for on-road events like rallies before you go through the following formalities. However, for Off Road / Circuit Racing events , a license may be issued to competitor under 18 years, but not below 15 years, on the basis of strong recommendation from their Club / Team. However, for 2 wheeler unmodified class (Group D) upto 135 cc,/ Mopeds, the minimum age is 13 years. For Karting license the minimum age is 8 years.
2. You also need an FMSCI Competition Licence which will be issued by the FMSCI only. The application / medical forms can be downloaded from Here
3. This set will consist of an application form for the Licence and Medical Certificate Forms. You will need to fill in the application form and get the Medical Certificate filled in by an approved Medical practitioner with his signature & seal.
4. Complete the forms in all respects and send the same to your Club or to the FMSCI direct with all necessary enclosures and the necessary fees.

At the actual event:

1. What you need basically is a vehicle to take part.
2. The vehicle must have current registration and a valid Comprehensive Insurance cover.
3. If borrowed from somebody, you must have an authorization letter from the legal owner allowing you to use the same in the competition.
4. For any event, you also need a special insurance cover for the competition. Your normal vehicle Insurance will not cover taking part in a competition. This will have to be taken to cover the period of competition.
5. Once you have decided the event in which you want to participate, write to the Club which organizes that event for an entry form.
6. Complete all the data in full and send the same along with the required entry fee to the club concerned. Make sure that you have enclosed all the required documents and the entry is submitted in time.

The above information highlights the basic requirement of the vehicle and equipment to be possessed by you for entering Motor Sports. Two wheelers and Four wheelers are dealt with separately.

When is national championship 2011 starting?

At the race last round breifing, the official announced that the race will be held before rainy season. so, they will keep race by febrauary or 2 races in june. do any one know when is race starting? becoz he said dates will be confirmed by 20th december. i cant see any updates on FMSCI or MMSC website. so,anyone know that?

Hello friends I am new on xBhp, I want to start bike racing so I have some quires regarding that:

1) I am living in Indore (Madhya pradesh), I want to know that is there any track near to my city or state where can I practise.

2) I visited many times FMSCI and MMSC websites but there is no updates regarding new events and even Yamaha, Honda and Tvs racing sites are not updating. How can I know about the race schedules and dates.

3) Its is important to be a part of a club before participating in a race as in Indore I didn't find any respective club.

4) Is bike necessary to take part in any races. I am planning to buy a r15 is that a good bike as I read previous replies that RTR is also good bike as compare to others.

5) Riding suit is compulsory to take part in main races. As the price of the suit is high thats y I am asking. If I participate in any 3 of ONE MAKE RACE there also riding suit is compulsory.

Just a layman's question - Read through in some thread that a YBX is better in terms of performance than a RX 100, how is that? why is it on tracks YBX is preferred in the Group D than a RX 100, is it just because of the 25 CC additional...what happened to 135 and why is that not preferred in the tracks

I have got many quires solved but two main thing I want to ask that:

1) How can I practise because I am living in INDORE (Madhya Pradesh) and because there is no track in Indore. Can you suggests me is there any Tracks near to INDORE or any tracks in Madhya Pradesh.

2) As the FMSCI and MMSC sites are not updating so how could I get the Information regarding Racing events. Even the yamaha, honda and Tvs Websites are not updating on Time, so please tell me how to get regularly updated.

I found a riding suit on yamaha website for rs. 5000 only is that suit good for races.

YZF-R15 Apparels & Accessories

Those aren't riding suit my friend. They are Textile Mesh jacket and Textile riding pants that offers just about the basic protection one needs during a ride and will not serve the purpose in racing as it demands much more like a one piece suit. Btw. the pricing of the jacket is Rs.4999 and Riding pants @ Rs.4350 plus taxes as applicable.

In the license form of FMSCI, I have made a draft of rs. 400 for Racing (Restricted) and they have written One Event 'D' & 'ABC' in form please explain me about that.
