  • Can I kick-start a car/bike racing career? I am 13.

    Hey Folks!
I am very much interested in racing and all. Just the revving sound of any motor is like hearing a music.

Problem is I am only 13 and can I kick-start a car/bike racing career at this age?
I read that circuit racing doesn't needs a valid driving license.

    Can anyone pour your suggestions?

        Yeah you can.
        Start with go karting .
And further you are from chennai so entering into racing is quite easy as long as you have the money.

Motorcycle races will require to be above 18 (if am not wrong).
So start go karting it is so much fun than you can imagine trust me I was blown away when I was 16 .

No no. Circuit racing is allowed from age of 13.
You are in Chennai right? Let's meet somewhere. PM me!!!

Nope. The kid is correct. The 18 year minimum age limit is only applicable to Yamaha and Honda one-make championships. FMSCI rules are as follows :

Licenses for riders are issued only when the minimum age has been
            attained as below:
13 Years for Group D upto 130CC & moped Class.
For all other Groups and Classes – 15 years.

I would suggest that you learn basic riding in a safe, private setting (like an EMPTY playground) with your parent's supervision and consent. Once you know the basics of riding, you could join a racing academy like Apex. They may require your parents to accompany you (and a letter of consent declaring that the academy can not be held accountable for your safety on the track). Once you feel confident enough, you can enroll yourself for national championship (details on fmsci website).

Edit : I would actually go against the flow and say that you start right away. Waiting till you are 18 to start a racing career is already a little late (if you want to go all the way).

            • Sponsorship for competetive racing championship.

Hello fellow xbhpians. Hope you all are doing good. I am an 18 year old teenager aspiring to participate in competetive racing competetions. I have a royal enfield but that cant be used for racing purpose. Kindly suggest me someone who can sponsor me with a motorcycle. Once i enter the competetions, i'll payback the favour for sure. I hope to. Find some kind riders here . Thank you.

You can rent out bikes and ride, depends on where you from though , in Hyderabad, pune, you have these go kart tracks which they use for training and track riding, there are 3 proper tracks in India to ride on, one is BIC in Delhi, obviously the best, but a session costs about 10k I think, 2nd is mmrt in Chennai, it's quite a decent track and then there's kari Speedway in coimbatore I'm, the smallest but a very technical track. I'd suggest you go n register for the one makes, gixxer Cup is a good platform, but you have to go Through the rider selection process In order to participate in the season. And the misconception is start at 18, I think, you should start much earlier at least in the smaller tracks if your really keen to make it as your career.
