Definitely that not me. Am a very shy person and hence i dont like showing off when there are so many guys aroundOriginally posted by nagoo View Post@gp freek
when i attended the R-15 championship some time back ... in one of the race .. i saw that one guy missed the C2 in over speed and went off track and believe and i slowed down on C2 and continued watching that guy and Guess wt ? he didnt stop there he went stright hoping to cut the road other side and suddenly i saw him toppling along with his bike ... that time only i came to know about the trench there .. other wise i would have followed him
.
I hope ur not that guy
...lol. That happened when i was practising alone and turned back to see the SBK which was close to my heels and Bham, i went off the track.
We will be late for sure. I can guarentee you that. He He. If any one needs our presence for briefing, then we might come early, or we will be lazing our way to track around 9.30.Originally posted by bikerfas View Postif everything is taken care then its ok.
@ GP - what time we got to be in at the track... if possible we all from chennai can meet up in once place and ride to the track...
Woossshhhh. Dont tell his name in public. Then he will not teach me.Originally posted by M@n()J View PostSajiv
Machi correct?? Me and Varun were the ones who helped him come out of that trench. Not to forget the thorns

Thanks for the effort but I am having some difficulties understanding trhe points you mentioned.
Please explain in more detail buddy.
And kindly don't mistake me for being rude here.
Isnt't the track all about judgement more than anything else? I don't see myself worrying about the speed ever unless i want to act flashy and fall.Originally posted by nagoo View Post1. study and know the race track. take a plenty of time to study it , do couple of rides to calculate the entry and exit speeds on the corner and u should be able to judge which corner needs to be tackled at what speed.
R15 is a sports bike cause the bike behaves better on the track ? And why is it about "deciding" my speed ? If that's all i have in my head,Ill fall at 20km/hr too.Originally posted by nagoo View Post2. know ur bike well ,.. make sure its pro's and con's .. for example u can;t bend ur bike in high speeds as u do in sport's bike like R15, and decide ur speed on ur bike capabilities..
Does anyone lock the wheel on purpose unless he is stunting ?Originally posted by nagoo View Post1. Bracking is another imp point , always applay progressive bracking instead of locking the wheels
I dont think anyone would change lane unless he enters a corner and cannot bend his bike and by mistake goes off his own line, and in this case, assuming you are being follwed will not helpOriginally posted by nagoo View Post3. Always be very alert in track , and keep assume that some one will be behind u [this will help u to avoiding cutting the others lane ].
you WILL go off track/fall.
Just a few seconds ? When ?Originally posted by nagoo View Post4. There will be 90% possibility of crashing on the track when u'll be doing more than wt u suppose to ride on normal days, this can be avoided with a few seconds of patience.Last edited by anants_220; 02-25-2010, 03:02 AM.Ride Safe :)

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE TRACK DAY / RIDER BRIEFING
These are a set of instructions that should be followed during the event to avoid unnecessary confusions at the venue. These are NOT rules being imposed on anyone. These are instructions given to the riders for their safety.
- Everyone should be wearing a riding jacket with elbow and shoulder protectors. A minimum of denim jackets with elbow sliders worn on them.
- Gloves are mandatory for any rider planning to ride on the tracks.
- Shoes which cover the ankle must be used. Snickers are not entertained.
- Use of a knee and shin slider or a knee guard is recommended.
- The visor of the helmet should always be closed when riding on the track.
- Everyone should go around the tracks only in the clockwise direction (Even in the pits) to avoid confusion and any mishaps.
- If a person is willing to come into the pits, he should sit up raise one of his hands after exiting the final corner. This is to indicate the rider behind of your intentions.
- When a rider enters the race track from the pits, he is to look behind (at the entry of c1) and then enter the track after everyone is gone.
- Hooliganism will not be entertained at any point of time. Remember we are not going there to race, but to know about track riding.
- If you have any experts on your tail (e.g.: Killer, Joel) try to give way and learn their lines by observing them.
- Overtaking is to be done in proper racing style to avoid any accidents, i.e. an overtaking maneuver is to be carried out strictly on the racing line to avoid collision. This clearly explains that one can overtake if the rider in front fails to apex a corner.
- Borrowing bikes is allowed only on mutual agreement. Under a condition
* The emergency contact details is mandatory for every rider below the age of 19.- WonderBoy

He he... look who is back with rules... Sorry i am not able to be a part of this event guys...
if in case anyone is coming by car, and dun mind a cripple sitting along please let me know... that person will have to help me down my stairs and then i can come to the track... and drop me back at home and help me up the stairs again... lol !!!
if anyone is game for that let me know... I will have to start talking to my parents and get all the gaali before you plan to come to my door step...
@ all : One small piece of information i would like to add to the above rider briefing...
1. Shift your weight a bit before entering the corner.
2. Be very gradual on the throttle.
3. If you feel you are going to crash, or you go off the track, do not fight the bike to a halt. Slide the rear out on purpose and slide away, so that you reduce the chances of going into ditches like my friend here. This also reduces the possible geometric changes to the bike and yourself. he he
4. Do not be heavy on the handle bars. Use the tank and your thighs to shift your weight.
5. Always look at the exit of the corner. Where you look is where you go. Always remember this on the track.
6. New comers, just chillax on the lap times and the hard cornering. Have a chilled out time and learn as much as you can. Remember you should be in a position to come back to the track next time.
7. A knee down is some thing to achieve for the new comers. People with decent experience on the track, can try reducing the chicken strips.
Phew....
I'm done- WonderBoy

@prajwalkashyap : Nope, it is always two way, we even have dividers and a traffic signal. Kidding man, ofcourse it is one way
. The essence of instructions repeated time and again by everyone is avoid two way traffic at the pit lane and entry/exit to/from the track.
@Varun: Good to hear from you bro. Would suggest you to stay at home buddy.
@All : Avoid borrowing bikes at the track, especially the guys from Bangalore. You do not want to run into the risk of having a crashed bike EOD and left clueless as to how to reach bangalore?!! anants_220 : Let me clear some points to you. First day on the track, you cannot judge the speed unless you see the speedo. To be honest, I am still not able to judge the speeds
Bham
And no body locks up the wheel on purpose. You are right, But it involuntarily. The lockups will be mainly in rear and it could be because of using the rear brakes or could be because of incorrect downshifting. You can also easily lockup the front in RTR under hard braking and I love the way it happens
Trust me. I have seen guys cutting across the track.
So my humble request is, try not to reason all the points. Some things you will never understand unless you hit the track.
Once the track day is over and if you still find that we are not correct, then surely you fire your questions buddy
We are obliged to answer you and to accept our mistakes

Another reason is because the track is very wide and you don’t have any vehicles near by, hence even if you do 100+, every thing will move slow around you. Only in the corners you will really realize that you cannot handle that speed. Bham—It’s a 90% crash situation. That’s why I requested the first timers to brake early.
Hence in the track, you cannot become an expert in a day. If you are very skilled, then probably you will learn quicker….
