  • My heart skipped a beat to see Angelis overtaking Pedrosa in such dangerous manner. Pedrosa was fortunate enough (or may be hats off to his balance on the bike) to avoid a big crash. I thought yet again he would be sitting out of the subsequent races.

Stoner just guns away in Losail. Hats off to him
But yeah Losail does suit well to him and the Ducati. Lets see what happens in other tracks.

    • Stoner is brilliant in Qatar! He didn't up his pace much, it was Rossi who was slowing down for some reason & his disappointment was showing on his face. Still better result than last yr.

Lets just talk about others for a change, Lorenzo ahead of Dovi again! Edwards was getting better by lap & so was Nicky on GP9.. he'll get better by race, one more lap & he would have taken Pedrosa, who I think rode bravely with all those injuries & a hit from De Angelis. Marco also did well to take 14th after running off track on turn 1 & going back 9 second to the last rider. Gibernau.. was he even there.. welcome to MotoGP after 2 yrs.. so much has changed, ain't it!!

I think Gibernau was pathetic ! he was not even able to move in that bike ! He was like a fat track day rider in the middle of 125 gp riders ! Slow and does nt even look fit ! Heard that he still has his injury troubles which he acquired 2 years ago ! Then why race and spoil your reputation !?
At his age ! Loris is the only one who still can keep up with the young guns ! he s fit ! and i m sure he can ride for a year more !
Gibernau your days are over ! Barros did it ! why did nt u !?

Mann...that was the scariest moment of the whole race..!! Lucky Pedrosa managed to hang on to the bike..!!

But, all in all what a race by Stoner..led the race right from the word "GO"..!!

          • Dani Pedrosa had one of the more eventful races of his premier class career in Qatar, and certainly earned his eventual five point haul from the opening round of the MotoGP World Championship season. Riding injured, the Spaniard very nearly saw his race ended in a collision with Alex de Angelis, and had some harsh words for the San Marino rider after coming home eleventh.
“He came straight into me, I was in front and he came into me to close me down. (He showed…) no respect, but life will return the favour to him,” seethed the Repsol Honda rider, who had been battling with De Angelis and Chris Vermeulen at the time of the incident. Vermeulen had passed him, but De Angelis’ attempted opportunism led to his touching the Repsol Honda rider and facing a meeting with the stewards following the race.
For Pedrosa –far from fully fit after leg and arm surgery- the collision severely affected his ability to take further positions and could have added another niggle to his list of injuries.
“After eight or nine laps at the front I started to have some vibration, and I don’t know why that was. Finally I started to lose a lot of grip, and when De Angelis touched me I began to have pain in my shoulder. It’s probably nothing, but I will get it checked out anyway.”
Pedrosa eventually held onto eleventh place from former teammate Nicky Hayden in a drag to the line.

Well! Dani you don't need to give excuses. Such kind of things will happen during the race.

After Kallio went past him, it was Dani who went wide which gave Angelis a fine gap to pass through. Though it was dangerous for both

                  • Rossi slowed down toward the end of the race thats why the gap went to 8 sec, due to lack of traction.. He is always slower to Stoner in Losail.

Rossi doesn't have to do a catch right now, he's right up there. Next is Motegi where Rossi took the title last year with a win when Stoner & Pedrosa were in front of him.. so its fairly leveled right now. Can't wait for two weeks man...

And this is how and why he extended his lead

I think he is still sore from his injuries from winter testing, though he managed to finish 13th.
What I believe is that the competition in MotoGP has toughened in last two years with the likes Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Dovi moving up from 250s... and they all are brilliant, running in front of veterans like Cappirossi, Edwards, Vermulen, Elias, Randy De Punie & even Nicky. So this new crop has actually covered the gap between Rossi and the others.. except Stoner, who's a front runner with Rossi, more times than I would like .. This is where Gibernau will have trouble competing with the young front runners!

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.
