        • FIM has made some very important changes to the rules n regulations for 2009 MotoGP season, primarily to cut on high investments made by factories. This will also help MotoGP get real interesting after all. Everyone is been saying that the sport is losing out on SBK, maybe... but this can raise it back up..

          1. Electronic and hydraulic launch control systems and electronic suspension systems have been banned (I wonder what will happen to Ducati, that launch control system was a great help to its riders)

          2. Friday morning practice sessions have been removed & Qualifying will cut short from 1 Hr to 45 min per class.

          3. In the eight 2009 MotoGP World Championship races which follow the summer break, commencing with the 14th-16th August trip to the Czech track of Brno, each MotoGP rider will be restricted to the use of a maximum of five engines until the end of the season.

Refer to Electronics limited and Friday morning practices scrapped for 2009 season | The Official MotoGP Website

More than Ducati, its Honda which stand to be in a bad position if launch control goes. Because right now its them who have the best launch control and its them who need launch control. Because Dani Pedrosa is so light that theres no way there will be no wheel spin or wheelie, when the Honda starts off the mark !! Remember Phillip Island practice 2007 !!

But as they say there is a work around for every rule. They can implement launch control in the ECU. The bikes at a standstill, speedometer shows zero and RPM idling !! NOt a very difficult task to add extra software to detect these and work out a power delivery system thats Launch Control in effect !!

Ducati will be jacked if they remove Traction Control !! Or shall I say Stoner will be (hypothetically) jacked .. cause the rest of the Duke riders already are !!

                • Marco Melandri will compete in MotoGP this season after a deal was struck between Kawasaki and Dorna to enter a one-rider team.

Although most eyes were set to be on whether Melandri would make a decision regarding his future during the upcoming pre-season test in Qatar, Kawasaki have confirmed that they compete in 2009 with the Italian rider.

The short statement is as follows:

Kawasaki announces that after constructive talks between Kawasaki, Dorna and other involved parties, a new one-rider Team will participate in the 2009 MotoGP Championship season.

This decision was made after negotiations that followed Kawasaki's January 2009 announcement to suspend its factory supported MotoGP activities due to the economic crisis. Rider for the new MotoGP team will be the Italian Marco Melandri.

The team will be equipped with Kawasaki motorcycles and supporting materials.

That Kawasaki has come to this new team approach is the result of on the one hand the need for a strong reduction of MotoGP racing investments and on the other hand the necessity to come to constructive solutions for all related parties.

The new team will disclose more details about its 2009 season's plans on a short notice.

And now he will need to undergo surgeries ...

Honda really need him to be fit to have any chances of fighting the Yamaha and Ducati (of course I'd love Dovi to take the fight to them).

I got the entire FASTER docu-movie !! They have shown and explained the incident in details in it ! Also the fist fight Rossi Biaggi broke into !! Its very interesting !
They discussed in details Rossi's rivals and concluded that (in 2001) maybe it'll take some1 who wasn't in MotoGP yet, to probably take the fight to Rossi !! And the video concluded with hinting that perhaps Hopkings was the one. Maybe they should release FASTER 2 now, with contemprory racers like Pedrosa, Stoner et al ..

U guys seen the 2003 (or was it 2004) Philip Island race, Rossi won by 4 secs despite being given a 10 second penalty !! Epci stuff .. I got the video of that too !!

And Laguna Seca 2008, cant ever get tired of that !!
