Sorry but what you mean? Why would you import a bajaj from outside? but if you talking about importing to europe, its gonna be almost no tax (that's 6% on domestic MRP on new bikes in UK)

If you take Indian online media seriously, you should immediately see a psychiatrist. No, seriously you should.

@news - if bajaj does launch p135 in Europe, it wont be less than a lakh rupees but hopefully still be cheaper than cbr150, cbf125, r125, aprilia RS125, Hyuosung 125, Vespa 125, and Derbi GPR50. Gosh, can't imagine MCN reporter reviewing p135. they were not too kind on Koreans.
They weren't too bad on the CB125 (or whatever they call the stunner there), which is manufactured here. I think this is a good thing. Tata had the Indica/Rover there (although that flopped) and now goras will ride on hamara Bajaj

They should introduce a 4 valve EFI version of the P220 there while they're at it

      Yes I meant so.
At the end of the day, all that the manufacturers care about is their profit.
If they realize that Bajaj is actually making more profit by using cheaper material to keep costs down and thereby managing to sell more bikes and thereby earn a greater profit, they might as well follow suit.

food industries can use these bikes for home delivery ... a good cycle can cost around 20K rs. there .. why not use faster mode to deliver having fuel efficiency of 100 km/l (europe = ).
true...a lot of Pulsars and Splendors are used for Home Delivery in the UAE

there is something known as brand image. and i dont think any company will try to put a dent on it!

secondly, using cheaper materials may reduce the price but along side it will also reduce the reliability. that means the customers will shy away from the product. thus reducing sales, that in turn lowering the profits!!

              so think practical dude

Well the point is to get a better quality of Bajaj product. Personally I like the P200 or P220S, but practically I hate the age old problem of rattling on Bajaj products. So I thought, MAY BE (may be), European markets will have an improved quality (like our good old Safari in Europe) & hence the question on import duty.

You mean you would pay more than double the price for the same model having a mph speedometer and "import" (this word is full of hassles) it back in the country? doesn't make sense at all. Products like safari, discontinued mg rover (tata indica), stunner (cbf125) have no exceptional quality difference and I am sure European nano will have airbags and side mirrors as standard, in terms of biggest visible liable differences, nothing more.
