  • Tokyo asks New Delhi to cut tariffs on Japanese vehicles

Japan and India have decided to sign a free trade agreement in order to scrap tariffs on 94 percent of traded goods.

Tokyo had asked New Delhi to cut tariffs on Japanese vehicles, while India wants Japan to import more generic drugs and allow more Indian workers into Japan.

the deal is to be finalised in october.....wonder what will happen after that. it would be raining Jaanese SBK's in india
they would be so much cheaper without the import duties

Whoa! Thats some serious news. If true, expect drop in prices of Japanese bikes.
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

if the trade agreement is signed with zero-10% of duties on bikes it shouldnt take the japs ore than 6 months to launch their complete range and slashing of the prices should be done on 25th of october itself.... dream of owning an sbk seems so close and practical now...

the koreans took time because they had to setup the complete sales and distribution network from scratch which is not the case with the japs if hyosung hadnt made an exit afer comet it would have been an all together different picture. all of them be it yami, kawa, suzuki or honda all have developed a wide network all over india all they need to do is gie training totheir mechanics to handle these bikes which can be done in 6-8 months...
