According to me Indian sensibilities are OK with 10K-12K for a Full Fairing.. but for a life saving kit like ABS I don't know if the public would be willing to loosen their purse by that much.
I suspect if an ABS kit for a two wheeler will cost the same as that for a four-wheeler for simply one reason..

A car has four wheels and hence needs four sensors and thus the corresponding higher complexity in the system.. But a bike will need only two sensors ( if at all Indian cos provide them ).. Hence i think a REALISTIC view-point might be a 5-6k price rise compared to Non-ABS bikes..

This is just my calculation.. If anyone else knows better, pl share.. I'm willing to learn..

      • Went to take a test ride of the Hyper Edge yesterday and to my utter agony, the manager of the showroom kept on pressing that there is nothing changed in the engine and it's the same engine as on the RTR 160. The only thing that has changed is the stickering. The price is also exactly the same.

I kept on asking him, if he can give me the actual Hyper Edge for test ride and he kept on saying that the Hyper Edge is there with the show room, but since there is no difference between RTR 160 and the Hyper Edge, I better ride RTR 160.

What was even funnier was, when I went and asked if I can get a test ride of the Hyper Edge, both the front desk lady (well she not so attractive as I would have expected) and the showroom manager asked me if I want to test ride Hyper Edge 160 or Hyper Edge 180!!
Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

I had a similar experience too when I went to check out the RTR 160 Hyperedge.

            • When Pulsar 150's latest avatar (the one with 15 BHP) was launched the Pulsar Showroom manager said similar thing to me that only change is the clip on handlebar and no engine change has been there. These people see bikes only as a source of their income and are not as much emotional about it as we are. So just ignore what they say and insist on test driving the Hyperedge only.

                • I heard from the dealer that though the engine of hyperedge is the same as old 160cc they have come up with some new tyres. Though they havent released any official statement on it. I wonder whether its their newly developed dual component tyres..then it would be rocking...

The Hyperedge is nothing but a refurbished RTR 160.
