Because the benefits for incorporating the "Fi" tech does not reflect that heavily in either performance or in fuel efficiency.Originally posted by RAK View PostThat is a Bad news. All the future bikes will be having FI and the Carb will be eventually phased out. But TVS is doing the opposite. Can't understand why.
Try asking someone who is not a xBhpian whether his R15/Karizma ZMR has "Fi" or "Carb".. most of them won't give a damm.
Now remove the full fairing from their bikes and ask them if they would be ready to pay the same price for their bikes as they have paid.
For a "normal guy": Full Fairing (or Fat Tyres) >> Fuel Injection

Thanks for clearing the air on the power output difference in the RTR 180. The BS4 norms has shown its effect on the power figures on both cars and 2 wheelers alike.Originally posted by hellraiSEr View PostThere is the revised Apache RTR 180 that is BS4 compliant (The one that develops 17.03 ps instead of the previous 17.3). Apart from that, I have no idea about other bikes. But, as per govt. norms, BS3 would give in to BS4 and this has already started in Tier 1 cities and metros (Eg. Chennai). From this September, TVS has stopped production of BS3 RTR 180 and the newer one has commenced. Hence, the delay in getting a new RTR 180 bikes.

The engine's colour seems somewhat to be of some golden'ish hue.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostSaw it in flesh yesterday early morning, did'nt find any difference in the tyre.....pics!

The reason for RTR FI not doing well are more to do with the problems of the bike rather then the costs. I have personally seen many of the FI owners getting silly problems with the FI system and trying to sell it off. The word spread too quickly and even before TVS could realise the model's sales dipped alarmingly.Originally posted by payeng View PostBecause the benefits for incorporating the "Fi" tech does not reflect that heavily in either performance or in fuel efficiency.

This is so true. Actually one of my friend bought RTR180 only because he wants to win the signal race. When I asked him about the power output and Torque of his bike (just to check how good he knows his bikeOriginally posted by payeng View PostBecause the benefits for incorporating the "Fi" tech does not reflect that heavily in either performance or in fuel efficiency.

) he was not aware of it.
He told that "I only know one thing. When I start from the signal I am always first."
