  • I had been to the factory showroom in Pune at wakdewadi. As usual the guys out there didnt have much info on the FZ. They gave me quotation which calculated the FZ1 to cost approx 10lacs on the road.
Does anyone know if they are going to launch a newer model for 2011? The guys at the factory shop said that currently they are selling the 2010 FZ1 model and the 2011 model will be available from Feb 2011 for the same price.

    • Hi Friends, kinda observed that the company showroom at the Mall in Saket seems to have been closed. From outside, the glass was covered with a huge poster like thingy. Any ideas ? Is it closed ? I wanted to check out the FZ1 if it was displayed there.

      • Bike is a total rip-off

I donno why you guys are so excited to buy a bike at double its original price. The yamaha FZ1 retails for 4.7 lakh rupees in the USA. Here in India its gonna cost nothing less than 10 lakhs on road. I somehow cannot justify paying 4.5 lakhs to the govt as customs duty. This bike is only meant for rich people for whom money is not an issue. For the rest of Indians the price is a total rip-off. I would advise people to only get this bike if money comes easy to them no matter how much you like bikes. Saving up and taking loan for this bike is not wise in my opinion

Helpful hint: ANY damn imported bike in India costs around 2x of its cost in the USA. If some bike is a CKD then maybe a little lesser than 2x.

True, after all how many use a SBK in India only for commuting?
i hope they at least provide the fairing as an accessory later on.
