    KTM’s 2011 model 1190 RC8 R Superbike hits the track in Valencia

It was knees down and wide smiles this week at Valencia, Spain when KTM took its new 2011 model 1190 RC8R Superbike to one of Spain’s most famous racing circuits to introduce the series model to around 40 leading international journalists.
The media launch in this format was a first for the Austrian specialist in sports-oriented motorcycles and on hand with tips and tricks were KTM’s three factory-supported Superbike riders Martin Bauer of Austria, Germany’s Stefan Nebel and Matej Smrz of the Czech Republic. The trio will again be flying the flag for KTM in the IDM (International German Superbike Championships) in the 2011 season. Last year KTM won the coveted Manufacturer’s Title in the series in only their second season of participation.

Members of the media were able to test their own mettle against each other and the Valencia circuit as they experienced the series model’s full potential in real race conditions. The latest KTM 1190 RC8 R is a typical example of how the R&D team of the Austrian manufacturer never rests in its efforts to constantly improve the Orange series model machines. Like all of KTM’s other models in both on- and offroad categories, the RC8 R benefits enormously from the company’s “Ready to Race” philosophy and each successive model is improved as a result of the experience and feedback gained in top competition.

While the journalists enjoyed laying down laps on the Valencia circuit on the 2011 series model in the company of Bauer, Nebel and Smrz, the factory-supported team members also took the opportunity to test the RC8R factory bike, an activity that produced a rush of adrenalin in anticipation of future results in the IDM competition.

KTM also used the occasion at Valencia to host one of its increasingly popular TNT “Track’N’Test” Days where amateur riders spend a day at the track with their own bikes in the company of KTM’s technical and race experts. For the participants, it was the perfect occasion to hone riding skills on one of the world’s best known circuits, while picking up valuable tips for their future performance on the track. TNT participants also had the exclusive opportunity to test ride the 2011 model KTM 1190 RC8 R.

200bucks of fuel free from KTM on finding the exhaust here !!
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

the bike will surely excel anywhere in the race world as it is producing somewhere around 175hp at around 2000 rpms lower than the Japs plus as compared to japs it is lighter by at least 30kgs.... which again increases the power to weight ratio giving it phenomenal advantage in the acceleration department...

plus not to mention that it is one hot looking piece of machinery... i would love to see the orange and black version instead of the black orange version...

Damn! I found like "picking a needle from heap of grass" when I paid attention to exhaust, after reading your post. But, after 30 seconds of glaring I finally found that. To say about the bike, past few years, bunch of bike launches every financial year, and everytime a more affordable enters.

                  lol

@kinshuk.arya: 175bhp@2k is surely typo error, otherwise this bike can beat Michael Schumacher in F1 race by an hour and show him nuts.
exactly !! i was like at first !

Dude.. he said 2000 RPM LESSER THAN JAPS for eg if hondas give this much BHP @ 8500 rpm this gives 2000 lesser than that.. i donno the numbers.. just example(suzukis/hondas etc)
read properly and logically how can it deliver 175hp @ 2000 rpm.. then 5 times in 10000 rpm ?

It is not linearly proportional. It does not have to produce 5times the power at 5 times the rpm. Diesel engines are known to produce full power quite early hence the brilliant torque. Electric motors have almost full power developed from start.
