It is a good bike no doubt about it. If you have made your mind then go for it.

I think it's a machine and you cant trust any machine. It can face any problem at any point of time. It is not a pacemaker where you cant afford to have defect.

I remember one of my friend who has a ZMA is still seraching for the padding in the fairing that too in Mumbai for last 6 months. SVC doesn't have it and just assures him that they will get it. If this is the condition right now just imagine what will happen when the JV is no more and also the cost of spares after it.

This is not related to bikes but would like to mention one incident here. One of my friend has a Ford IKON which is a very good car as per enthusiasts but has terrible cost of ownership. The spares cost a fortune and since this January the car was taken out of production. Finding the spares before moving out of production was a mamoth task at a huge price then imagine what will happen 2 Years down the line.

Altough I think Car manufacturers provide spares till 10 Years after the model is discontinued but finding spares now also is a huge task. Now he is forced to buy duplicate spares from Kurla. Just imagine his situation .

Agreed whole heartedly..... but the sooner the Indian manufacturers realize that they need to move on from basking in past glory, the better for all.
HH cries about bringing the biking culture,
Bajaj cries for bringing performance to the masses and taking it to the next level,
TVS cries about brining new technology and its 'racing dna'
Yamaha cries about it pushing the 'performance' segment to the next level
Honda cries about quality of the world standard..
Suzuki just cries about being an international player...

at the end of the day, its all cries and nothing else.. what is relevant is the present and not the past.

many cars and bike manufacturers use same engine for different designs...
linea, sx4, manza, desire, punto, indica vista, palio, swift all r using same engine but all are diffrent is charecter and tuning...
at least they are not installing 4-5 engines under same design like bajaj is doing with their discover and pulsar range and tvs is doing this with apache...
they have maintained the charm of their bikes like karizmas and cbzs....

Its true. They all use Fiat's Diesel engine (I guess MJD ). Just the tuning is different.

And chuck these two massive lists... Every Model has 2-3 engine options...

Thats what I said all the engines are same but the tuning is different. I am not an expert in this but AFAIK car manufacturers sign a licensing agreement with Fiat and need to get it approved from them. Many of the MJD models which are there in todays cars have a cylinder difference. Some have 3 while some have 4.

TATA wont worry that much with the licensing agreement with FIAT as they are partners in India . I guess thats the reason you see so many Indica Diesel models.
