kapil buddy sorry to disappoint u but it's not difficult to take on almost similarly powerful bikes.so pulsar if has gained a bit in hp,weights less then the zma.with mods to head, carb flow and timing it can give same figures.yes these figures need testing.

rajnish what I have understood is that it will be required to modify the new p180 to take on zma or fiero (the way i described)

Now what I stated was that OD has to prove the figures they claimed on a new "stock" bike .. no mods as I'm sure OD has not modified the bike before doing performance testing.

Not saying which bike will be better after modifying ... my point is related to "stock" bikes no mods.

Man i'm talking bout the mods which the bajaj guys have done, not a individual.no karishma has a 130 top.it's mostly 125 and meter shows 132-135.the error is apx.8-10 kmph.

Nah rajnish ... I doubt if those mods would be enough to get those wild performance figures .... will have to wait and see till someone gets one of those bikes
                  So whos first?

HEY NAV OR RAJNISH TELL ME THE POWER/WEIGHT RATIO OF TDS-I
AND ZMA,I PERSONALLY THINK ITS POSSIBLE AS P180 WEIGHT IS
137 AND 150 THAT OF ZMA,ZMA IS GOOD BIKE BUT NOT WORTH 4
                        82000 BUCS(ALLOYS,DIGI K BUT ADD ONLY AROUND 7000 I THINK).

HANDLING OF P180 IS ALSO VERY GOOD JUS PUT REAR 4.00*18 64S MICHELIN RUBBER.
STUNNED AFTER WATCHING NEW ZMA VIBRATING(NO RUBBER FOUNDATION).
I THINK SOME GUYS HERE HAVE ANTI 180 FEELING AS THEY R AFRAID THAT

whats the power of TDS-1 and weight? wrt to p180 and zma its
                          ZMA 111.33bhp/tonne (16.75bhp/150kg*1000)
                          p180 107.66bhp/tonne (14.75bhp/137kg*1000)

May be the zma that u see vibrating had some problems...as most of zma owners I'm sure can prove u wrong on this part.

Ok guys, here's the real part of the story........

Called up the OD guys as I was totally frustrated to read the speed figures of the new 180. Here is what they have to say...

The rider that they used for the ZMA was ASPI ( 90Kg ). And the guy who did the Pulsar 180 DTSi test was Shirish who is 60-65 in weight. So all this lesser weight ( lesser rider weight and lesser dry weight of the bike ) gave the better figures. But all the figures are totally on the edge, where the bike pulls to its limits and finally feels stressed out. Not the the case with the ZMA, even at the top speed it does not feel even a bit stressed.

Again, stability is improved in the new Pulsar, but "still" feels nervous in high speeds corners and seems to slip or drag. Not in case of the ZMA though.

Later in the mag they have a 6 bike shootout where they compare the ZMA, 180 DTSi, 150 DTSi, CBZ, GF170 Laser, and the Fiero F2. Even here they say that only in the straight line they have faster figures on the 180 DTSi, but while running both the bikes head to head on their high speed test track the Karizma gets better lap times due to better handling and far better cornering.

When I asked these guys thier choice, they said that it would b 180 DTSi if price is the constraint, and if overall performance is considered it would b the Karizma for its sheer feel of safety speeding which feels a lot confident no matter what terrain, what whether and what rider. According to them the 180 DTSi feels on the edge when claiming those speeds, and the Karizma feels is total control at any god damn speed.
