Rash its 13PS and 16PS ( 12.8BHP and 15.78BHP )for the 150 and 180 .
You said one bike was ridden by Aspi and other by Sirish Chandran , but I remember Adil specifically stating that ALL testing is done with Aspi on the riding seat to eliminate rider induced differences ..
so Adil is lying then ?
Show-boating at its best ....
Overdrive also put the power to weight ratios as 115.1PS/tonne and 113.3PS/tonne for 180 and Karizma respectively but these are w/o rider weight . Using power/wt ratio to justify the acceleration of Pulsar180DSTi as better than Karizma is a vague excuse to feed a bruised ego ...imagine a 4 stroke single with 2 valves doing almost 9500RPM in top gear when its power peak is 8000RPM , does that sound right ? Not to me .
When you consider fuel + rider weight , which I have put as 100kg ( 90kg for Aspi Bhathena + 10kg fuel ) , the power to weight ratios of Pulsar180DSTi and Karizma are 66.94PS/tonne and 68PS/tonne for 180 and Karizma respctively ...so the Karizma has better power to weight ratio .
And I bet these new Pulsars aren't gonna make an equally capable rider on the Karizma sweat , not when the Pulsat rider himself is not sure of the Pulsar's high speed handling .
And how come after years of criticising the CBZ as unstable , now suddenly they say CBZ is more stable than Pulsar even with the longer wheelbase , whereas earlier they said the old Pulsar was very stable ???? The cat is out of the bag ! LIARS !Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.

Has anyone seen Matrix Reloaded ? Remember the scene early in the movie where Neo fights 3 agents , when the agent blocks Neo's attack , so Neo realises these agents are newer versions of programs , and calmly says " Huh , upgrades ! "
That's what I'll say when I come across a new upgraded Pulsar : " huh , upgrades ! " .
Could there be a more scalding insult to those ( admittedly not all Pulsarians are like that OK , so no flaming and plz take no offence !)Pulsarian's snooty attitudes who disrespect CBZs and Karizmas? Neo shows us how to deal with .....well , upgrades : with sarcasm and a twist of the throttle .

Now I know that the Karizma is the most stable bike at high speeds and it never feels nervous. The Pulsar is a very nervous handler and it is not at all safe at any speed. People pay 25000/- for the Karizma over the Pulsar because they get better looks, quality, performance, stability and excellent after sales service, not to forget good resale value. It has a top speed of 130 kmph at which it doesn't feel strained and nothing can match it's snob value. Even if the 180 DTSi makes 16 bhp, the 225 is going to make a maximum of 17.5 bhp only. Even then, it won't match the Karizma cos of the poor handling and cornering abilities. So whoever has decided to wait for the 225, is waiting in vain. You better buy the Karizma and you will have the best bike in the country. I am so sad I bought a 180. I have an underpowered bike with nervous handling, which is unsafe, and with low quality and very poor after sales service, and it will not have a good resale value too, even if I decide to get rid of it. I don't even have the excellent engine of the Fiero F2. Mine is not reliable and refined. My gearshift is clunky. I am so unlucky. Shucks! - MAX.
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do, what they need is one reason why they can.

guys we all now know dat OD sucks as compared to AI (autocarindia).
i also wanna add sm more points abt OD
1)wen i had taken spy pics of ambition,i sold dem to OD. OD payed me 2000 but AI was offering 4000 but still i went in for OD coz adil has talked to me n his wordings were "our mag wants ppl like u, we will make a career out of u". but i regret it , coz now i know he said these words jus to get d pics. nowadays wen i mail him or OD from my bunny_punia id of hotmail,i dont get a single reply. moreover,AI always names d reader who shots d spy pics but if u notice , OD never named me for d ambition spy pics.
2) i know 2 ppl workin in automorsport india magazine, dey both said dat adil was a **** person wid wrong outlooks n false promises.
dese r jus 2 more pts to show wat OD is.
sunny i request u to kindly send an email along wid all dese threads abt OD to show dem dey r f****** . put all the names of members who r in support of dis. send a cc mail to autocarindia too to show our appreciation for dem. wat do u say fellas??

That's an interesting move by Bajaj. After providing the disc as standard now they even put the ES as standard. Will sure move the Pulsar more upmarket in that case. And will sadly put the Pulsar out of the reach of those who were going for a KS.quote:Originally posted by rash_rp

In that case these people will migrate to the Wind. And if P_L_A_Y_B_O_Y was correct here: http://www.xbhp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=937 then maybe that is the new segment they are creating.
With disc brakes as Standard if they price it a couple of Grand more than the Wind it should be fine. Despite its collaboration with Kawasaki, Bajaj seems to be keeping itslef fiercely independent in some segments.
They will have competing products in same segments. Like the Byk and the Boxer are in the same price band (tho' they cater to different segments). Here I guess the Wind will be more of a Super Commuter and the P 125 (if it comes) will cater to the Sporty Kid, who wants the looks without having to spend that much!2003 Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i (first gen, spoked 18" wheels)

May be all bajaj bikes are ridden by lighter rider (who is also not allowed to eat ne thing a week) and non-bajaj bikes with a heavy rider (who is made to over eat just b4 the ride) so that bajaj bikes always gives good figures as compared to non-bajaj bikes.quote:Originally posted by Ricci

hi all ,
Nav I went to Overdrive office and spoke to Sirish Chandran . He said all the testing for figures is done by Aspi .
But when I told him that power to wt ratio with rider is 66.94PS/tonne and 68PS/tonne for Pulsar180DTSi and Karizma , he simply shrugged it off saying what happens in practice is very different from theory .
But most of all , what truly makes me stumped was when Sisirsh said speed depends on gearing ( which is true ) but that if one gears the Karizma for 160kmh it will do 160kmh !!!! What ??? Karizma and 160kmh??? BAAAAH NO WAY !
How'd they get their jobs ?Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.

if aspi does all the test then riders with 60kg weight should do better than him [xx(]
BTW they also might have got the job thru some contacts
