Suzuki Slingshot uses the same Suzuki Zeus engine which was 8.85bhp, Suzuki Zeus used to do 102 kmph according to the test figures of Bike India magazine.

When I used to own a Suzuki Zeus myself,I clocked 105kmph max in stock conditions on the speedo.Pick-up beyond 80kmph was like Gladiator in stock conditions and there were reasons for this, both Suzuki Zeus and Suzuki Slingshot have a 5th gear despite the low bhp and being just a 125cc.
Yes I was talking about the Slingshot. My bad.

And I just checked bike india's figures again: Slingshot is 8.6bhp/ 96kmph.

Hmm, then Suzuki Slingshot has degraded in top end performance in comparison to Suzuki Zeus...........if you have an issue of Bike India prior to launch of Suzuki Slingshot, you will find the top speed of Suzuki Zeus to be around 102kmph(in the section where they mention the performance and price of bikes).

But again, what about the people's mentality (more cc= less mileage)? Can Bajaj overcome the odds?
I think Boxer will be aimed at those who want a 150 cc, but don't have the money to afford current range of 150cc's.. it's the same logic that worked for Disco 150. People conscious of mileage will never come to Boxer 150.. for them there is the Disco 100/125!!

Right. By having Boxer 150, Bajaj will cover bases on those people who have a luggage to carry around or simply want a powerful bike. If priced right at just over a premium to 100cc bikes, Boxer 150 could well be a hit.

And if Bajaj people are reading this, bring in Boxer 150 with spoke wheels. Anyone who wants a bit of showoff will go for D125, the ones who wants showoff with BHPs will go for D150 and those who need workhorses will buy Boxer 150!!
Life would be so simple then!!

Good points there.. anyway for anyone who wants ONLY fuel efficiency there are already a plethora of 100 cc bikes.

Spoke wheels are also better at taking impact of bad roads compared to alloy wheels. For example off road / motocross bikes always are shod with spoke wheels.

If the Boxer is intended as a workhorse, then spoke wheels makes all the more sense.

Pulsar 150 , Discover 150 and now Boxer 150..!! Yet making the decision for which 150 cc to go for seems a simple affair now.

Seems like Mr. Bajaj's vision of Pulsar - Discover - Boxer is perfectly on track.

I don't really see a confusion. Even though all these bikes have same displacement, they have completely different character. Majority of people buy a bike without going into the CCs and BHPs. Its the general character of the bike that defines their decision. Bajaj is clearly defining the segments in the way of Sports, Executive commuter and Economy commuter.

Well explained bro.. if there is such confusion it should have scuttled Disco 150, but that didn't happen. So there is no reason to believe there will be confusion with Boxer 150.

Well, we can decide that when we have Boxer 150 test ride or reviews. As of now, we are bound to be confused...

Pulsar for enthusiast, Discover for commuter, Boxer for.... ((let the bike release, then only we can tell, right?))

As of now, we can only make ideas about Boxer 150.
