Hey Bro! that's common biker perspectiveOriginally posted by princesirohi View Postthis is great news.....but i wonder why they have not updated any other features....like better tyres etc.....

but actually TVS owner is a great bike enthu & TVS prioritize performance rather than plastic fairings (remember the quote for the racer by the racer
)
And RTR already got better handling, better acceleration & now the ABS.
only thing I expect is a sticky compound tyre, linked monoshock, gud front forks & 6th cog(very essential for top end).
But an RTR 160FI with ABS is all I want, co'z that's enough for my daily dog fights
truth is stranger than fiction, everywhere!!

there's some valid point here...........because not all potential cutomers are as well informed as we are.Originally posted by badbikerboy View PostAll DC setup is a welcome thing but they could've done quarter fairing at least...
I think it wont find so many buyers who are ready to shell out all that extra money for some invisible changes
in the bike???
i only want to say that just because it is one of the better bikes, it doesn't mean that there is no scope for improvements, and with the market heating up with so many new entries.....improvement is a must.....Originally posted by Sonicman View PostHey Bro! that's common biker perspective

it may be enough for your daily dog fights but for riders like me .......for whom power, torque and top end is more important, i would rather go for P220 than A180 with ABS.
i was only asking for a bike with an all round value for money package.

ABS is not a race tool. It is a safety feature.
By the way I dont approve of "dog fights" on our streets.

^ +1 to that......Originally posted by payeng View PostABS is not a race tool. It is a safety feature.

i think it will take some time ......for everybody to understand that ABS is not a race tool..........just like it took some time for people to understand that disc brake is a good thing
when pulsar 1st launched there bike with disc brakes and people were not accustomed to disc brakes .....a lot of guys crashed due to improper use and a common perception was starting to set that disc brakes are bad. elderly people, dads and moms, uncle type uncles and uninformed riders used to advise that "don't purchase pulsar....uske bahut accident hote hain, disc brake ki wajah se gaadi skid ho jaati hai"

Payeng Bro, not to doubt your knowledge, but are you sure about ABS being just a safety tool?Originally posted by payeng View PostABS is not a race tool. It is a safety feature.

I think it can be helpful on a racetrack too- depending on the rider's skill level. An amateur will definitely benefit from it. An expert "might" benefit too, specially on cold tyres and rainy conditions.

@ Princesirohi: I don't think people will perceive ABS as a track tool. My reasons are:
1. Cars like Hyundai Verna, etc. already have the ABS, and Verna's nothing even close to a race car. So, people knowing about ABS earlier will take it as some kind of a "road experience enhancement".
2. Other People (majority) don't have knowledge about what ABS is, so how can they develop the "its a track tool" perception?
I think the question would be, "for what am I spending the 10k extra?" or "is it worth it?". And TVS' salesmen are going to have a tough time explaining its worth.---

@Samarth, my knowledge especially on motorcycle racing is very limited.
ABS has probably been not developed to the level of being applied to Racing Motorcycles. But probably work is definitely on its way.. read this
Anyway ABS has been basically developed as a safety feature.

I wonder how ABS will work in corners. There have been times when I've taken too much speed and as a result ran wide (nothing much to do except counter steer and pray). Usually if we brake we will end up sliding... will abs be able to prevent this. I mean if we go into a corner too fast can we brake since the wheels don't lock

I think you got my query wrong. Was not asking about braking in corners.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postthe answer to you problem is discussed in last few pages of thread "braking" in section "art of safe riding"
I was wondering about how ABS will work in corners. Would it be possible to brake since ABS prevents wheel locking.कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

What a coincidence it was today? I was in my car taking it for a routine service, there was a guy at the front on a new FZ, he in turn was behind a car, all of us were prolly doing 30 to 40 kmph max, all of a sudden I see the FZ's rear fish tailing, looked like he used a lot of the rear brake without using the front and he just avoided a crash. I am sure ABS would have helped him......

FZ has amazing handling & braking capabilities...in my colony one boy rides FZ like Crazy, doing speeds of 60-70 KMPH (without helmet)and comes down to 10 Kmph at every turn and again Zoom off pushing the bike to its limits.....whenever i watch him i think what will happen if suddenly a Fortuner will comes his way and the fz rider fails to push brakesOriginally posted by bprags View PostWhat a coincidence it was today?
