I too have decided to install ABS in my Suzuki GS and hopefully I'll be good with panic breaking !

I have seen the video of RTR being tested with and without ABS on its test track. Its merely a safety measure and a step ahead of Disc Braking ! Its worth it !

The track was straight so couldnot see their point of view on the corners but personally I feel it does help when we 'wrongly' enter fast in a corner and brake !

ABS 180 will be great.... and it will be hard for even R15 or 220 to beat This bike in streets now.

That's the point, if a rider on a very good handling bike like the FZ can make mistakes with the brakes, than think about the other bikes. We are humans and bound to make mistakes.

Anyway ABS has been basically developed as a safety feature.

Even my knowledge is somewhat limited.
But As far as I know, CBR 600 RR 2008 model (and some other japanese bikes) with ABS claims better lap times for more than 90% of the riders.
The reason is that one just slams the brakes, and electronics manage the best stopping distance, before entering a corner for example. Thus, this results in saving few seconds of laptime.

Even with RTR, TVS are claiming some seconds' improvement in track time due to ABS.
this is great news.....but i wonder why they have not updated any other features....like better tyres(Thats the big dissapointment with rtr 180) etc.....

if i would have been the owner of TVS ......i would have launched a completely new bike......a fully faired one like R15(yamaha's refinement is hard to beat..TVS got a lot of catching to do in terms of refinement ! ! !) with better tyres, better headlights,(Trust me they are good enough..and better than any bike in its category) better handling(Ya..with good tyres..it can improve..but apart from that..everything is just fine..the weight distribution,flickability,braking..are too good for a bike with that price tag), better comfort, better acceleration(4.3 secs for a 0-60kmph..is not that bad ! ! !) and of course ABS(A must with TVS tyres ! ! !).
.........
Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

The 180 with ABS comes with the new grippier tyres, reported in Autocar this month.

Great. Pricing is decent too but the variant wont find much takers for. Only if they could have launched the ABS on a bigger bike. But sigh, its TVS!!

i only want to say that just because it is one of the better bikes, it doesn't mean that there is no scope for improvements, and with the market heating up with so many new entries.....improvement is a must.....

it may be enough for your daily dog fights but for riders like me .......for whom power, torque and top end is more important, i would rather go for P220 than A180 with ABS.

i was only asking for a bike with an all round value for money package.
Bro I also want more power etc etc. but what I oppose is fairing like R15 n so on... still we can tap more power from RTR180. many knows the race spec. RTR160 has much power. there no need for >180cc engine. I feel!
I know peoples asking more powerful bikes but they don't ride above 60Kmph
I do have fully blown TVS Shoalin, but can't ride on our roads

so a DOHC RTR with 6th cog n modified chassis geometry would be enough!

Hehe I never said ABS is a race tool!, but I believe ABS can yield better lap timing.
Yeah ABS is a safety feature, by the way I work for a firm which makes ABS for BMW bikes n are pioneer in 4 wheeler ABS, so I knew some basics of ABS, may not be knowledged as you all

Dog fights!
yeah I also don't like dog fights, but what to do? the Traffic is like that(autowala, tempowala n buses) n these posers disturb me a lot, so I kick them on the way
