  • Honda Optimistic About CBR250R Sales

Honda will launch the CBR250R on the 25th of March, 2011. The company has received 2500 bookings for the bike and are expecting to sell close to 30000 units in the first 12 months itself. This is a very optimistic target considering the price of the bike. However given the target set by Honda, we expect the company to hike its production accordingly and thus eliminate any waiting period for the CBR250R. If Honda manage to sell a good number of CBR250Rs, we can expect more players to jump into the 250cc performance segment

I somewhat agree with Honda here. 2500 or so parties trust Honda blindly, but a lot others are waiting to let it hit the market before making a decision.

You got to see a thing in flesh, sit on it or test ride it before you can hand over your cash for a long term bike. Just think- will you marry a girl just by seeing her photo? I definitely won't. Same with many other people across the nation...

Although, whether it would be 20,000 units or 30,000, is very difficult to say right now.

considering the bike has already launched elsewhere & trustworthy reviews in the age of internet , you really donot want to wait to actually see it in flesh to book

I haven't seen megan fox in flesh but know that she's hot

Agreed but would you marry her coz she is just hot and then later regret after finding that she is not your type and her maintenance costs are really high.
A huge number of people just dont want to take that risk when spending 1.5lacs on something.

Actually more than 4000 people trust Honda blindly 2500 bookings were for the first month.
Secondly Indians trust Brands not the Bikes made by them.

Since the price is attractive as compared to ninja this will surely gonna sell.

Wait, I am just reminded that by March 2012, we will have FZ250, GW250, Duke200, etc. in the market too.
That means while Honda get some "first come first serve" advantage, they won't be so lucky later on.

So, How will the CBR hold its own against the 'probably' cheaper FZ250, twin cylinder GW, premium part-equipped Mini Duke and the others?
Will it still be able to touch 30,000 units this year?

@ bprags: how many single females do we have in xbhp anyways? 2 or 4?

Its March 2011, & there is no news of the launch dates of these 3 bikes!! You think they will launch in the next 2 weeks?
Where do you get your information from?

Sorry, I meant March 2012. I have edited my post.

I mentioned March 2012, because Honda are claiming 30k sales upto that time. There's no launch date so far for these other bikes.

Respective spokespersons from the companies, Automotive magazines, plus the testing of these bikes on roads, are my sources.
