Absolutely true...
They have improved by leaps and bounds.....
& these betterments are best noticed (and known to) by people who have been Bajaj-ers since their initial attempts...
However, they still need to improve...to come in leagues of the japs in terms of overall product quality...!!!2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
2006 - Eterno (sold)
2008 - Dio (Owned)
2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

I hope he practices what he preaches! Bajaj would do well to focus on improving the engine and chassis than add on countless gimmicky features. And yes, an improvement in parts quality is always welcome.
Oh, for the record, I own a Bajaj too. 7 years.
Edit: They have improved a lot. But not enough, and somehow I feel they still do not have the focus right.RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!

I believe that for a manufacturer like BAJAJ,they could have attained higher levels of quality much much earlier
How hard is it to improve that RVM of the P220?how hard is to have the turn signals not sag down even on a brand new bike? how many stages of improvement do you need for these?Originally posted by vishnups17 View PostThatz because you are not using a bajaj product..

Building a more reliable and efficient engine in terms of quality might be difficult, that will require a lot of generations to be improved, but the things i mentioned requires only the will to provide better quality.
Its pretty clear that the lower quality is maintained to keep the prices very low.not because they are trying to improve stage by stage..That is why India's most powerful motorcycle costs so cheap.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

it is good that bajaj is focussing on quality. and so called gizmos that bajaj gives is now copied by everyone .......like digi console, LED tail lights, disk brakes....etc etc....silencer heat sheild......black engine styling......etc....
and the turn signal indicators......which bajaj gives are flexible type whereas a lot of other manufacturers still give rigid type indicators, which break quite easily.......so pulsars indicators are lot better than those .....
not to mention.....self start...........came in india.....riding on pulsar........
bajaj has given us so many firsts...............in terms of technology........
its time for them to improve on quality..............
and these kind of topics have been discussed on xBhp....................n number of times.....Last edited by princesirohi; 05-23-2011, 07:21 PM.

This thing has been going on for such a long time. It's really not that hard to manufacture a bike with superior quality.Agreed, they have improved a LOT lately;(2-3 yrs)still they miss out on the finer quality control aspect

+100. If looked closely, all the current bikes have the features that were brought to the scene by Bajaj. As for the quality, I have been riding Bajaj Discover 135 for past 2 years and the bike feels exactly the same it felt on the first day. If one looks at the bikes being sold today, Bajaj isn't too far behind others.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post

From the interview, I see a desire in Rajiv Bajaj to make it big. I am pretty sure Bajaj will make it and we will be riding what people will ride across the globe!!

I guess they have been focusing quality for last couple of years, but the image is still blurred! Need to focus more precisely.
But again, if the focus is on quality, then the price would be going out of hand which has been USP for bajaj's bikes.
How intelligently they will balance with quality and price is what Mr. Bajaj actually is in his mind.
Other companies are providing bikes with decent quality, so must not be a tough as for him.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
