Genuine CF helmets should be very very light. I have only seen & tried on a BMW helmet and if I remember it weighed less than 1 kg. Two years back it was selling for the quivalent of Rs. 60,000 here in saudi arabia. So add the custom duties for it in India........

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

I think companies like Shoe, HJC, Arai etc helmets are expensive due to they goodwill in the market for which they charge their royalty from the customers.

In the last they have to advertise their helmets for which they need capital. Thats why most of they brands price their products at higher range.

I don't think its just for the brand image that the prices are high. People both abroad and in India would never buy a premium helmet unless its worth the premium that is paid. So definitely Shoei,Arai and HJC ought to be better than these for them to be so expensive. If not, then, people will rarely buy them.

We all know that most the people in the world buy expensive stuff for what purpose (being materialistic). Only few people dont follow that path. Brand always plays a major role in every sector. Tell me why Honda's cars are relatively expensive in nature in comparison with their counterparts. Its just they are enjoying their brand image in India, for which they are charging more.

Its not who's better or worst. Companies like Shoei, Arai and HJC etc charges high from their customers because of their brand value. And we all know to promote a product we all need capital to advertise it, for which company won't put money from their own pocket. They will charge the customers for it by pricing the product at higher price.

I will quote a example here, Why Cola companies charges Rs.!0 for their soft drinks, though we all know that the factor cost per bottle is less than a rupee. If we add the transportation cost and their profit too, then the price wont shoot more than 5-6 rupee. Then tell me why they charge Rs.4 more. They charge that Rs.4 for paying the advertisers to promote their brand amongst us. Its a simple marketing rule. Which every company follows.

We all know Honda makes the best cars and bikes(especially motorcycles) in the world in terms of reliability. They are renowned for it. This is something that other manufacturers lack. That is the main reason why they are expensive. Its because its worth it, not just for the brand image. When you spend like 7~10 lakhs on a Honda machine, you can rest assured that it was worth every single penny that you spent. I'm not saying that there are no cases where people had trouble with a Honda, but if you compare it with other manufacturers, Honda is far better. You wouldn't have a brand image unless your products are reliable and are better than most others. The same applies for Shoei,Arai and HJC.
P.S: The soft drinks part is a bit different. They charge high because they are unique and one of a kind. Here the theory of brand image is applicable.

It not about who lacks what and who's the best in the market. No doubt they make the best bikes and people buy their machines for the reliability. But my question was about the higher price, why does the same class cars or any other machines cost is different (Specially Honda - compare its city with Fiat's Linea, Maruti's SX4, Nissan's Sunny, Renault's Scala), When we use almost the same technologies in our respective cars, When our ancillaries are the same, When you manufacture your product in the same economic region, When your product dimensions are almost the same as the other manufacturers, When you pay the same wages to your labours and salaries to your managerial dept.

Here the branding and advertising kicks in, for which any company needs capital,

And about soft drinks and any other product they are not different, when it comes to advertise or branding. Any company will take the advantage of their popularity and will charge high in order to sign big stars for the promotion, for which they again need the high budget in order to get their products endorsed by them.

So, My question to you from where these companies generate the capital for their branding or advertising?

Yes you do spend money on advertising, this is not something unique to a certain brand/company. Everyone does that, and the money for that comes from the revenue that you attain in whatever ways (depending on the type of company). Its not that only Honda makes branding. Every manufacturer will advertise about their products but that doesn't mean, everyone will become successful just by branding. Unless your products are good and worth the money that is spent, people will not buy it, no matter what brand it is. Even if Honda makes a shitty product, people will simply overlook for a better one from some other company or another product from the same. It is the product that matters, not the brand. If the product is good, then the brand will automatically become popular. You need not do advertising for it.

Again you are getting the whole thing wrong. Its not about Honda or any other xyz company. What my simple question was - Where do you generate the capital for your product's branding or advertising?

It is obtained by pricing your product at that level where you can enjoy your brand or product image by pricing them higher (if your product is popular) than the others. By which we generate higher revenues and then after we use part of that revenue to promote our respective products.

And there are no product in the world who does not require a advertisement. Fro ages we are watching new technologies coming in the market, So how would we let our customers to know bout the technological advancement we did in our product or some visual alter in our product. Which is only possible by communicating with them and again we need that portion which we have earned it from our revenue (pricing them higher).

No company in the world put its money into the awareness of its product, its a simple rule charge it from customers by pricing them little higher.

Even the Boeing and Lockheed Martin do advertise. So, don't say we don't need to advertise because our product is the best in the world.

This product is not there in the website anyway.the whole price issue topic going on:those who van afford will buy costly stuff.there are only so much certifications available for helmets;dot, ece, Snell, sharp etc.beyond a certain price point the hyper priced helmets become pointless as the ratings won't change.its just branding.admit that those brands did wirk their ass of to reach this state with their products.eg.Ferrari can release a simple t shirt and price it 5000bucks(or more?) for the branding when same quality would be available for 500(or max 1000)bucks.
