At 0:54 in the video, they're directly competing it against Hayabusa... And they clarified that all the efforts were to make it the premium segment king.

Also, they're very clear on the power part. They say its the most powerful Kawasaki street bike ever built, by a big margin. Even if this big margin is a modest 20%, it points towards 240 bhp,

Should Hayabusa worry...? Well, atleast design wise and power wise I say, yes it should.
How it will fare in other aspects is another matter though.

Design wise much better from the previous versions. However, I like the headlights of the previous one as compared to this. Seems more aerodynamic and compact. Not much changes on the design part though or may be this pic doesn't say all about it.....

Just watched the videos. Amazingly fast! was my first reaction. However, power figures are nowhere mentioned or may be I've missed it. They're also competiting it with the 'Busa' in one of the videos, on a dragstrip. The way it has been developed, seems like it has a multiple characteristics, designed for several purpose. Wonderful!!

Known as the ZX-14 in America, the colour choices and paint schemes for the European models may vary but everything else on the bike should remain the same. It's Kawasaki's most powerful motorcycle to date and adds yet more fuel to the 'fastest production motorcycle' fire that rages between Kawasaki and Suzuki.

Damn, the official statements from japan claim it to be the fastest accelarating production motorcycle.

"Professional drag racer Rickey Gadson has already managed a 1/8th mile run on a stock version of the bike in just 6.347 seconds, crossing the line at 118mph"
              Courtesy - www.motorcyclenews.com

I personally love the side panels, those 3 wedges looked out of place on the old model, these look more in synch with the bodywork. the engine size is bigger and the exhausts literally look nothing less than cannons
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

200 metres in under 7 seconds? Well, as expected.
It really is the fastest it seems... Have a look at the Kawasaki's given Dyno Graph given below:

Visordown people measured it to nearest pixel, and found it to be around 217 bhp. But don't trust it. Maybe the Dyno is "Not to Scale".

                      Only 197 bhp...

The recently announced Kawasaki ZX 14R has much lesser than anticipated 197 bhp @ 10,000 rpm. And the torque is quoted to be 120lbft of torque at 7500rpm. And, it would be 197 bhp without RAM AIR and 207 bhp with it. This 197 bhp/ 207 bhp is equal to the ZX 10R but the giant 1440cc bike has more torque to offer over the rpm range than its racy sibling. And its 10 bhp above the older 2011 ZX 14R.

Clearly not what we anticipated, seeing expectations of regular 200+ bhp figures over the internet & media, but again, it has a longer stroke by about 4mm, which wouldn't have done too many wonders anyways. And, a stroke increase was needed in the face of very efficient & torquey rivals like Hayabusa, etc. Who knows, this could make it an overall efficient machine that goes fast enough too...

It would be (non-politically) correct to say that ZX10R was made by inspiration from the S1000RR and ZX14R was made by inspiration from the Hayabusa. After all, even in a cross country race, your rivals often show you the correct way, if they're ahead.

And yes, it might be the fastest production motorcycle too, given that its torque is spread all over the range, topped with 197 bhp.

The article on Visordown was in this tone only, you can check. I was just trying to journalise from the actual customer's viewpoint.

Otherwise, who am I say anything on this issue? I won't buy such a heavy Hypersport, even if given the chance...

yeh, its not a cake walk for sure, but if I'm getting 197bhp from a 1000cc i'm right to expect more from a 1400cc firebreathing hypersports bike.

That's what visor down potrayed and our Samarth here just gave us the same impression.

True, but these hypersports generate power differently and have lots of torque so even with similar bhp figures on paper the experience would feel different while riding these. I am sure Kawasaki is aware of their numbers and they are aware that against what ZX14 is pitted against
