This is good news for some of us who have been waiting!

I just want to know if they could have another service centre somewhere close in mumbai!!! Have been licking the factory manual, but the way the things are packed in there is mesmerizing!

I still prefer an SKD route & hopefully one of their showroom is opened in Chennai.

One can IMPORT the entire motorcycle as such = CBU
One can IMPORT entire parts & assemble the motorcycle = CKD/SKD

May be Satyen was trying to say CBU by import

precisely what I thought... But why prefer SKD over CKD? Wouldn't CKD be cheaper? (Assuming India is used as an export base, the only case when CKD would make sense)

Ducati setting up an assembling plant in India seems very difficult in the next x years.
Hence what I meant was this..
Route it as CKD\SKD to the nearest country. Make it sweeter if that nearest country has a FTA with us and more so if that country is also a parts supplier to Ducati.

When it reaches India, it comes as a CBU from that country!

Personally, I prefer a SKD because most of the important components will be assembled to precise engineering abroad & there's no room for juggads.
