the bike may not sell like hot cakes in the long term after the initial euphoria is over. for me i may take this bike as my second bike. i am sure that there may be quality issues if you subject the bike to genuine off roading, like fork seals going burst, rear shocks with missing gas, bend forks etc etc. but for normal riding with a little off roading thrown in , i hope the quality is good enough. that is the best one should expect at the price point of 80,000/. many of you in this forum were very critical of the poor weld of impulse. i beg to differ somewhat on this and request such people to go and have a good look at the honda cbr 250 weld. after that u may not complain much. world class off roader bikes dont come cheap read BMW and KTM. the impulse is really a cheap offering compared and with a decent quality and power + what mother of all indians MILAGE . i will also advise the people here the warranty offered on the impulse is unmatched and shows the confidence of the company on the bike.

for me i expect the bike to be a fair off roader, simple mechanics ( read carburetor, open chain, easy wheel removal etc ) easily serviceable by a majority of way side mechanics( or me ), tube tyres etc . this is the bike for me on my LEH ride and some off roading i plan to do. if there are no major quality issues , i see the impulse in a couple of years will be the bike of choice for all going to mountains especially LEH/LADAKH.

for now i am keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the bookings to open at Thiruvananthapuram

Only thing missing is a mill that can comfortably ride above 100km/h

I saw the review of Overdrive the other day, can Pulsars, RTR descend so easily from the steps?
Again I do not intend to compare the others with this motorcycle. Since these are distinct categories.
I know that I'm little / too optimistic about this one since my mind says Something Is Better Than Nothing!
If we need best of the breed then we need to show inclination towards this, so that others will follow.
BTW anybody so the Polaris advertisement on the electronic scoreboard in yesterday's match? "World’s No. 1 Off-Road Vehicle, now in India".

I hope it does. The TR given by the showrooms cannot establish whether this will be far better than regular bikes on trails.

Why don't you suggest your friend to sell the Fiero and buy this instead? A friend suggested me to do this instead of going for more cc on Fiero.

^^^ Quite surprising how people can go about bashing something without half knowing what its capable of. Though I can understand if its a pulsar. :P

    You cant please them all.

Thank God finally some positiveness in the thread.

This looks like an honest bike ready to take on any terrain .The chassis ,suspension , rims , tires ,exhaust - everything seems to be built on purpose albeit if it had some more torque ( not bhp).

this may be a fresh new 150cc alternative for a biker trying to stand out from the countless hordes of 150-180cc bikes, but now the Honda engine employed in the bike has become the most overused engine (after the 100cc sloper in various Hero Honda bikes)

The same engine has done its duty in the frames of-
    Unicorn
    Achiever
    CBZ Extreme
    Hunk
    Unicorn Dazzler

    aaand now the Impulse,

Hero should have atleast upped the displacement, or increased the torque ratings by some stretch.
