Forty6 - We hoped we could get better riding comfort & better power than R15, better pricing than N250R!!! In the end, we'll need to learn to live with issues as no bike (for that matter even Wife) is perfectly suited for anyone's need, unless it's tailored for him/her.

PS - Your post seem to be the after effects of Shawshank Redemption

I have no issues with suspensions as I'm riding on Indian roads for which I find Pro Link to be superior; why would I want to be mad

Then, good sir, you obviously dont demand much from your bike.

I wonder what joy you get with all that power if you cant take a fast corner without coming out with shaky knees or worse?

Whats the use of so much better suspension and handling when it got no power at all

Own one bike before crying here and there ! that too a powerful one

Did I hit a nerve somewhere? Do I need to own a cbr to have ridden it? Do you own a cbr? why the heck are you taking offense to my post?

I guess I forgot that this a cbr worshippers temple thread. I guess I mustnt utter such blasphemy here else zealots like you crucify me, dice me up and sacrifice me to your gods to get a beter sorted suspension.

I agree. But then, is that not how the street Hondas are? Please ignore the Racing Replicas while pondering over my last sentence.

                Wholeheartedly agree.

Hope is the engine that drove 916. and hope is the engine that drives a s1000rr.

so i sincerely hope you are hoping that you will be riding on roads rather than in potholes. Because if you don't hope that you should have been nice to Mr Munjal and bought a super splendor instead.

Secondly to those who object to comparisons i guess you then, are basically objecting to the purpose of sites like these. I do grant that to compare a bullet to a cbr is stupid, heck comparing a bullet to anything, unless you are on a dirt track, is stupid, but R15 and ninja are sports bikes at the end of the day. They are supposed to give us cheap thrills and they are in the western world the initiation of the young ones to the world of road riding, so why shouldn't they be compared?

In the end it is good to find faults and hope for a better bike. Because CBR could have been a lot better bike. It is this hope of what it could have been that makes us "crib".

                thanks.
Read your response about 4 odd times, just to smile again. It sure could have been a lot better bike, but I'm still not complaining about the bike. I'm yet to get my left fairing and radiator even after 97 days of wait but I'm a happy owner. Why? Because, and I'll quote my banal statement, I feel this is the best commuter you can lay your hands on in India today.

You are right! As for me, whene'er I'm taking a corner I assume there's an 18 wheeler waiting for me at the end of the apex. So, in essence, it's about priorities. Corner carving while commuting to office or the local basket ball club is not up there on my list. Each, as they, to himself!

Just for the records, I'm not a CBR 250R fanboy In case you are looking at donating a Gixxer, however, you can have my left kidney.

I don't own one and thus not saying anything crap about it.
Whatever it is, it is obviously one of the best & Powerful Bikes manufactured in India...
So, be happy for it, not cry about it.
By the way, I am a fan of Ninja 250R The Undisputed King !

And this topic is related to best bike award and some comparison with other bikes especially lower segments one.

                        Dear sir,

it seems your face has been distorted by the windblast from the high speeds experienced on big bikes. don't get me wrong with right footage it can be source of a million hits. just ask mr. jeremy clarkson.

however i do own a cbr and i expressed what i felt over 8 thousand odd kilometers. and once you do buy a ninja i can rip that apart too on some points. because i have ridden that too.
but that is for some other day.

till then i suggest you calm down. it is just a meaningful conversation we are having.

and to those who know what i was talking about, thanks. if anyone of you comes across any remedy to the problems, which does not involve stoning the local mp till he makes the roads as smooth as a new born's buttocks, let me know.

                        Thankyous.

The Honda CBR 250R won the bike of the year. Does anyone know what the competition was?

                          Here's the list.

                          Hyosung GT650R, ST7 and GT650N

                          Kawasaki Ninja 650R

Royal Enfield Desert Storm and Classic Chrome

Till here, nobody has any chance of winning because the 650s are not 'Made in India' and the REs are just a new Paint job.

                          Here come the real competitiors:

                          Hero Moto Corp Impulse

                          Bajaj Boxer 150

                          Yamaha R15 V2.0

Was this really so hard to win? No 'actual' competition apart from the New R15.

The real fight should be next year though, with the new Pulsars, Duke, GT250, the Triumphs and hopefully a few more coming our way.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Unless the manufacturers have some surprise in store, 2012 scenario's looking pretty much the same. GT250 and triumph are out as they are not manufactured locally (talks about setting up production facility in India may take time). Perhaps we may see some small bikes thrown into the lot and the real fight....new pulsar and duke200? Mmmm...care to guess which wins?

Let me decline your kidney, Im having too much fun going in circles at high speeds on my gixxer.

No doubt...priorities. You may prefer the city, i may prefer the hills. No doubt....you take what you get when you dont have a choice. I was simply lamenting a loss of possibility that got phrased a bit brash.

@kaynmantis: Theres a probable p-twin suzuki 250 contending as well.
