The Bike sounds monstrous, like a proper 'race' bike. The Bike is also big in proportions, a bit wider than the P220.

The price is 1.33 lacs on road chennai, bookings open from feb 1
Only the KTM trademark orange colour will be available it seems.

I want to know whether this bike has a Fuel Injection or a Carburettor like in the pulsar 200NS. So can somebody post the full specifications?
fi it is.specification are already posted in this thread.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
    #overkill is underrated.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

    • what i am concerned abt the ktm 200 was the millage bcoz with 25kmpl i wont be able to afford the daily running of the bike..!!

but i was just curious with the pulsar 200...wit a claimed mileage of 58kmpl..
engine being almost the same (except for the trispark and reduction in 1.5bhp) and i think of the same gear ratios...the major difference is the huge tyres..150mm and 110 mm ktm tyres...compared to 130mm and 100mm..
so with these difference how will the ktm mileage be ??????
i think it shud give atleast 35kmpl...
wat do the experts think..???pls enlighten me...
      Cheers

No expert can predict mileage based on riding. Although, Zigwheels did report a figure of 38 kmpl for Duke and 54 for Pulsar.

I think that Bajaj has just announced a realistic mileage figure for Duke but again, don't make decision so fast. Wait for some time.

There now remains only one question to be answered, why would anyone choose KTM Duke 200 over Pulsar 200 NS?
              Can someone please answer this....

Simple, preferences! If you feel that P200NS and KTM200 will offer more or less the same experience, then you may be wrong. KTM is lighter and slightly more powerful as per figures, it has completely different chassis and suspension package. So the riding experience can be different. And being same in engine capacity, performance will not be much different. I mean motorcycles in same engine capacity are likely to give similar performance unless the motorcycles are in completely different categories. Moreover, we have always had brand preferences. Basically it's all about having an option to choose, simple. Why do many people buy Ducati and MV even when more money friendly options are around that give similar or better performance.

KTM will be bought by anyone with a higher budget and looking for brand exclusivity, and KTM stands out on its own.

Well, if you are trying to reason, then let me tell you there is no reason.
P200NS is a brilliant package, there is negligible difference between claimed performance figures and if you don't have enough money for KTM, all the better, you don't have any confusion at all. But the moment you got enough cash, take a look at Duke 200, would you go weak in knees, I think that's where the problem is. I have no doubt in my mind that in the long run P200NS will be cheaper to maintain as it's without FI & uses cheaper spares compared to Duke 200. But still, the moment you look at Duke 200, you get confused.

Just to tell you as mentioned in above post, with Duke 200 you might be looking at a different riding experience and it's more of a life style. But performance wise, I don't think there is glaring difference between these machines, oh by the way, P200NS in yellow looks equally smashing.

You made it all the more confusing. :P

                      P200NS or Duke 200? Obviously the P200NS.
But 50thAnniversary or P200NS? Totally confused.

I've loved the R15 all these 6 months. Always had plans for this beast, soon after I got transfered. Now settled, and with the R15 also booked, I'm completely lost with the Pulsar man.

R15 is an awesome machine.. you will never regret buying it after you get to know the superior handling of that machine. power&torque/money is low it though compared to the competion. If you only like to engage other bikes on a straight stretch dont go for the R15. The R15 will change the way you look at corners and curves! In stock from, CBR250R, Duke 200 or any pulsar can never come close to the handling package the yamaha has put down.
I own an R15 and just booked the duke. R15 will still be my bike of choice for corner carving and R-riding, its got a true super-sport soul

                              Go for the R15
