Afta a long confusion between kwacker n duke made my mind fr duke thinkin practicalliy there is no comparision between a sbk n a naked 1 as money was not a big deal for me asked many ppl they said get the ninja if u hv the $ bt duke is nt a sad buy after gettin many words from frnds n all made myslf think practically tat where wil i ride the ninja peacefully in a city like mumbai touring are way far u wont go touring every alternate day n duke fits best in city riding thn why shld i spend a 1.5lkh more for a full faired 250cc 8more bhp n worlds best 250? does this al get into ya mind afta thinkin practically ya bt for the 1 xtra cyclinder i would pay 1.5 lkh more bt where wl tat xtra cyclinder be used in city ridin? correct me if em wrong i wanted smething quick ready to go at any rpm in peak traffics so duke fits well in tat the 2 negative's for me its bad touring capability n bad pilon

1 question wl u carry a pilon on long tours u would bt i wl prefer solo so a bit less probs for touring for me n bout pilon i dnt care if any1's unconfortable at back i want my own ridin pleasure :-P:-P

i was the 4th guy to book the duke at ktm kanjurmarg n wl get the delivery by 29 or 1st of march

have you made the payment? any word on when the delivery now? It looks like something is wrong, they now say its unsure when they will deliver. Maybe they are waiting for an auspicious time.

I guess they want to start deliveries on same day across India .. May be auspisous day also :P :P

Test ride at Vadodara

Reached the KTM showroom and asked for the TR. I had booked the TR during an exhibition and had got a call today to come for the TR.

When i reached there, the bike wz out for TR with someone else, so waited in the showroom. They asked me to fill in some form and asked for my license - small formality.

When the bike arrived i wz surprised to see that they do not ask the customer to wear helmets, nor do they wear themselves, i asked if its compulsory, they said NO

Anyway, started the bike, engine was smooth, sounded good. Gear lever, brake lever are small. Started the ride and the power is awesome. In all gears, we feel the torque with pillion.

Gear shifting was difficult due to the placement of the shift lever, but managed to get hold of it. It does not shift to upper or lower gear if u have not returned the lever back to original position, u need to do that to upshift or downshift.

Bike felt smooth, engine felt refined (as compared to TR of CBR).

Asked the showroom guy to ride so as to feel the pillion seat.

The moment he started the bike, i had to ask him to go slow. The pickup was AWESOME, i almost fell of the rear . He touched 60-65 in no time. Also he cud ride at 30-35 in 6th gear, which is amazing for city rides.

The bike wz showing 33 kmpl as average. Showroom guy said it will give 30-35kmpl. Headlight seemed good in daylight, its FULL DC.

Loved the indicators ( all led) and of course the console.

Fit and finish is clean, bikes looks international standard.

NO DELIVERIES in baroda yet. Said that it will be started once there is an official press launch :O

how many xbhpians from kolkata have booked duke?talking with the showroom-guy i felt the bookings are low compared to other parts of the country.
p.s. when i went there the showroom was deserted.the sales-persons were chit-chatting.

Yes,I payed the full amount yesterday, first he said that deliveries would start from tomorrow and then he was like tomorrow or on the 25th. Anyways I can't bring her home until Monday so i din't inquire much, as he was certain that I can take her home on Monday.All he was blabbering about was the GRAND function that will take place when the first lot is delivered, again he was not certain as to when will that be.!

They say Deliveries have started in Mumbai but I doubt it A guy posted on Team BHP but his pictures are from a mobile phone and I don't see any garlands on his bike haha.

They sound like a confused lot, I wonder what they are doing with our bikes now! GRAND function yeah, A guy posted earlier that Gaurav Bagga himself wants to hand the keys, I wonder what the fuss is all about.

Can you give me your opinion on what it felt like riding pillion? My wifes helmet keeps bumping into mind on the pulsar, I'm curious to see if it gets worse on the KTM.

OT: I always wonder if i could invent a transparent Helmet! This would take care of the biggest hurdle for sales of Helmets - "Showoff"

we can try by injecting admantium into the skull :P :P :P ...

Delivery Woes

That'd be me.
Well, the delivery of the bikes, at least in Delhi, is being very poorly managed.
Yesterday evening KTM South Delhi informed that the bike can't be delivered on Friday. Yet, on Friday, i.e. today, morning 11:30 am I received a call from them informing me that the bike "will be " delivered today evening at 4:00 pm.
An hour later, I received another call, and they said that the bike "will not be" delivered today evening as it is still in PDI and maybe it'll be delivered on Monday, details of which they will inform later through a phone call.

PDI doesn't take 2 days, and I don't care who hands over the bike, I don't want no launch party, ceremony or any fan fare, I JUST WANT MY DUKE.

Someone take the delivery please.. Waiting for a 1st user review..
