PDI just takes less than 2 hours as per the complete check list ....Originally posted by Debashish View PostThat'd be me.
Well, the delivery of the bikes, at least in Delhi, is being very poorly managed.
Yesterday evening KTM South Delhi informed that the bike can't be delivered on Friday. Yet, on Friday, i.e. today, morning 11:30 am I received a call from them informing me that the bike "will be " delivered today evening at 4:00 pm.
An hour later, I received another call, and they said that the bike "will not be" delivered today evening as it is still in PDI and maybe it'll be delivered on Monday, details of which they will inform later through a phone call.
PDI doesn't take 2 days, and I don't care who hands over the bike, I don't want no launch party, ceremony or any fan fare, I JUST WANT MY DUKE.
Your excitment must be at an all time high right now. Enjoy your new ride when you get it & ride safe

Well the pillion was comfortable for me as i had a helmet while the showroom did not, so no question of bumping, suspension was good, not too soft not too hard. In fact i was sitting close to the showroom guy - telling him to go slowOriginally posted by voodoo_god13 View PostCan you give me your opinion on what it felt like riding pillion? My wifes helmet keeps bumping into mind on the pulsar, I'm curious to see if it gets worse on the KTM.
, but yes the pillion seat is small - not like CBR.
@ASSASSIN07 (Answers in italics)
Asked the showroom guy to ride so as to feel the pillion seat.
How was this experience? Did you feel any discomfort? : NO Pillion was comfortable. Maybe bcoz i am 5,10 and 55 Kgs, pillion seat is smaller compared to cbr, maybe longer journeys could cause discomfort.
The bike wz showing 33 kmpl as average. Showroom guy said it will give 30-35kmpl.
with a condition that you drive it like a 100 cc bike (or did u rip it?): Well i guess so, but for a Test ride bike showing 33 kmpl, with it being ripped day in day out, seemed good.

This is pathetic. Bunch of school kids and retards are running amok on the forum nowadays. I have seen guys using the F word (should be a good enough case for a ban) and now, this kiddish "you suck" comment.
Makes me wonder, how many here are true riders and how many are just keyboard punchers who are posting away because its cooler to be here than on facebook.

KTM Duke 200 - 0 to 100 - YouTube
This Video was shot at Nice road, Bangalore. Bike's from KTM showroom, Bng. Impression's that the showroom guys are little unhappy with the review coz the review got some tech specs wrong.
He in the following passages refers to the showroom person I spoke with. Went there on a Sunday. So only one guy was there. (Plus security and a kid (kid from my point of view ))
Delivery will start from 29th in Bangalore (unconfirmed! Just heard him talk with a guy called Kapil who's number 6th or so booking number in Bng). There will be a little ceremony at Peenya. Not sure exactly where. Didn't bother asking. It definitely won't be at Indiranagar showroom. Press will be invited. Plus the usual brass from Bajaj and KTM.
1st bike will be handed over in Peenya. The 2nd and the 3rd will be at the showroom with some fanfare (not sure if it's on the same day). rest probably with a hand shake if we are lucky as and when their due date comes up.
He said that Bangalore will be getting the first delivery in the country (maybe he was boasting or maybe it's true Definitely weather's cooler than in Mumbai or Delhi (maybe cleaner would be appropriate). Maybe they don't want the foreign KTM folks to melt(or get choked))
Was asked where I learnt about KTM from. Said XBhp
Told them Xbhp review was good
Roughly 300 booked in Bangalore so far.
Anyone thinking of booking, take cash, DD or cheque. Paying by card will cost you 2% (extra service charge)of whatever you are putting as down payment (minimum being 20k for booking, which translates to 400rs). Had to go and fetch the cash from ATM Luckily ICICI (my bank) was close by. Syndicate ATM said over cash limit and refused to dispense.
The power gear, power wear is not available in Bangalore Showroom yet. Not sure when it will be. Showroom guy was non committal about that.
Before 1000km(i.e., first service) rev limiter will be set to warn you once you hit a little above 5k rpm and red light will be on once you cross 7k rpm (can see that in the video. red light remains on after the bloke hits 7k)
Before 1st Service, as per them you are not supposed to rev beyond 7k.
Not sure if the rev limiter will be set to 11k or 10.5k on production bikes. The showroom guy said they are worried about the top end and biker's safety (they don't want idiots basically killing themselves by going too fast)
He said not to worry about service stuff as they will have one more place atleast handling the servicing apart in the near future and being Bajaj (and KTM) they will not short change the customers when it comes to A.S.S.
If you are not looking for TD, try going early Sunday morning around 10:30AM. Showroom's open till 2 and apart from the security guy and the kid, no one's around. You can ogle and paw the bike as long as you wish without anyone bothering you. The bloke you finally talked about and was kinda the in charge for the day showed up at 11ish or so.
TD is available depending on the staff number. Less staff less chance as in my case. So would suggest to try weekdays and Saturday.
