Bajaj Auto Limited, the country’s second-largest two-wheeler maker, is all set to power its newly-launched Duke 200 – a naked style street fighter motorcycle from its Australian partner KTM’s stable – with the launch of KTM's Power Parts and Power Wear accessories and merchandise soon.
“We will be launching Power Wear accessories like jackets, gloves, stickers and helmets in a month's time to start with, before introducing Power Parts (aluminium sprockets, high-grade plastics, superior alloys and other fittings) at our 32 KTM showrooms (earlier Bajaj Probiking),” Prakhar Muktibodh, area sales manager, KTM (south India), told mediapersons here on Monday.
| NSE

Delivering the first 15 Duke 200s to customers in Hyderabad, Muktibodh said the bike, priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad), was positioned in the higher-cc bikes market where Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR 25R together sell 2,000 units per month in the country.
Bajaj Auto, which holds close to 40 per cent stake in KTM through its Netherlands-based wholly-owned subsidiary Bajaj Auto International Holdings, is already exporting KTM bikes from its Chakan plant in Pune to Europe. It supplied around 11,000 units of Duke 125 cc in 2011.
According to Amit Pawar, zonal manager, Bajaj Auto, KTM Duke 200 had so far seen 100 bookings in Andhra Pradesh and the number could be a little over 1,000 units from across the country.
“The Bajaj-KTM partnership is focused on developing high-cc bikes. Next in line from the KTM series to hit the Indian roads will be the Duke 350 cc, 690 cc and 990 cc bikes,” Muktibodh said, while declining to give any definitive time lines or numbers.

While not exactly, but it is approximately correct. CBR 250R sells around 3000/month and R15 v2.0 is definitely selling more than 2000 units, can't confirm how much.Originally posted by sayank10 View PostI doubt this figure bigtime.
Even R15 v1.0 was selling 1000-1500 units/ month. So, v2 is bettering that anyday.---

Could you update "would-be" KTM owners if possible the cost of spares, servicing etc for KTM Duke 200.

Mad Charging Bull
Guys Test rode the Duke 200 today... Felt as if was sitting on a 'Mad Crazy Charging Bull' - yet awesomely balanced...
For guys who have already picked up a duke - you know what i mean... For soon to be owners, you are in for a hell of a ride..
P.S. - I want to pick up a bike for two enduro events "Desert storm & Raid-de-himalaya" and am looking at an option if i could do something to make this bike enduro ready (people are calling me crazy for thinking like this (because this is an out n out street bike), but the engine has simply swept me off my feet and a newbie like me needs some power to stand a chance to complete)
Still contemplating - how to change the foot pegs, and increase the ground clearance
| Looks extremely difficult.
(Oh Hero Motocorp Impulse - Why this 150 CC Kolaveri Di!!
)
Cheers and have a great week-end aheadExhaust Notes - The sweetest sound

KTM Price Update plz
We have been hearing about the price rise for KTM 200.
We would like to request the senior members or whoever can possibly get the info and share it with all.
We just hope its a nominal change and not a big one to burn a hole into our pockets.
Just a thought after reading that the rise may be around 20k-30k, it may be as costly as the CBR250, which i am sure bajaj wont be doing.
Keeping our fingers crossed.30+ YEARS OF RIDING
