Yes , i will refrain using such language again i got irate coz i was just asking for help n didnt get a properly.. anyways rite at the beginning i said i dont know much about the threads n where to post . But iam learning it quickly and will do everything as suggested by you .Thanks for the guidance.

Anyone from Kolkata booked this bike ?

Almost all the folks who've had the chance to test ride the bike have described it as a bike with very very quick acceleration reminding them of the two stroke era (including the exhaust note). Just for a rough understanding, how would you all relate the dukes pickup/acceleration to a RD. Does it give similar rush of adrenaline as a RD or is it more like a RX?

TD is available in chennai. You can go at any time. Did TD before two weeks.

Duke 200 - Test Drive done @ PBK - Bangalore on 18th Feb

I did the TD of Duke on Saturday (18th Feb) @ PBK Indranagar Showroom in Bangalore. Was there at 10:15am so not many people were there. Infact the showroom was just opening and had to wait for 30 min for the Duke to be washed and refueled! During this time TD formalities were completed.

My wife was with me for the TD, I specifically wanted her to feel the pillion comfort before i book the bike.

Currently i have a ZMR and she sometimes complains that rear seat is cramped!

By the way below is my feedback on the TD:

* TD was taken by me with my wife sitting in the pillion seat.
* Its definetly a good looker. My Wife liked the thick rear wheel a lot.
* Tank is huge!
* Rider Sitting posture is comfortable but I felt the foot rest little back when compared to ZMR. Riding stance is forward facing different when compared to ZMR.
* Gear & Brake Levers are tiny!! just by looking at them i was wondering how many times i will miss them during the TD. But i didnt. Though they looked tiny and small, I was able to reach them when needed. May be my mind already knew it was small so made the extra effort not to miss it. I was wearing a Woodlands shoes and i definetly thought i will miss it.
* Bike is very light easy to ride in traffic.
* Exhaust note is different. At low RPM's it feels like a TVS Luna sound but when you start Revving it the sound becomes better.
* FE was showing 18KMPL before i took the TD & once my TD was done it was showing 19KMPL
* Console looks good but RPM & Fuel display is tiny!
* Pillion seat is small. My wife didnt like it at all. After sitting in Duke she felt ZMR pillion seat is a Sofa!

Overall the bike needs to be driven in high RPM's to enjoy!

Pillion comfort is a big let down for me. My Duke dreams are gone now

As of 18th Feb morning there were 260 bookings done in Bangalore.

Once the Duke TD was done i took the Ninja 250 TD. My wife liked the Ninja pillion seat better compared to Duke's!

Received a call from KTM Vasant Kunj today. They wanted to know if I wanted to avail the finance option or pay in full. I guess this call means that the delivery dates are definitely getting closer. But, upon inquiring about the same they didn't commit any delivery dates.
Anyone else, who has booked the Duke, get a similar call?

I got this call on 14th feb.. But as I was busy and out of station, told the guy to call next day. He hasnt called me till today. As I am back to chennai today, will call and find the status about the bike tomorrow.

Correction... TVS never made Luna, it was Kinetic

TVS use to sell Luna named under TVS Champ in years 1990-94. I have ridden it..

@raven20: Just for an update.. the ninja pillion seat might look nice at an earlier stage, but is a problem for longer rides (>10kms).. I think in those terms KTM seat seems a better bet.

Just got a call from the KTM showroom guy. He said the bike will be arriving and will be available to take home by the end of the this week. He told to arrange for payment within next 2-3 days. Will go to showroom soon to get more details.

Oh Man. I am so excited.

KTM Test rides at Baroda

Hi,

Was contemplating to take a TR for the Duke as the showroom is on my way home, but somehow could not go.

Anyway, got to see the KTM at the recently held BITA exhibition. Though the exhibition is about IT technologies, was surprised to see the KTM. Asked them for Test rides, and they say we need to register for TR .. Registered my name and number, hopefully they will call me for TR.. On road price at baroda is 1,27,xxx. The staff at the exhibition were not friendly with lots of air, with no courtesy .

The bike looked big up close and at this price its surely VFM. Will post more after TR.
