WoW 3rd June? that's pretty exact. I don't think I can wait that long. :P In that case I will hold on to my Ninja till this bike is officially out.

While looking for info on the 690, I stumble on this:

"...With enough torque to pull from relatively low rpm the engine lacks the grunt of the parallel-twin Honda (CBR500R) but it is far more engaging than the slightly muted CBR and the KTM's handling is considerably better..."

Confirmed: #KTM #Duke390 officially top speed is 160kmph. But this time it won't hit limiter in top gear like #Duke200
Actually, it says the top speed depends on a person. If you're not heavy you can go up to 170 kmh.
Another Italian review few days ago has achieved 171 kmh.

    From OD review:
"Official top speed is 160kmph. This speed is in sixth gear. But sixth gear is very tall. So tall that 120kmph is just 6500rpm. But it also means that you will never hit the limiter in top gear. Which means lighter riders will see more than 160. The engine development head, a slim Austrian chap, for instance, has seen 170kmph."

Little bit of mathematics - if the speed in 6th gear at 6500 rpm is 120 kmh then the theoretical top speed at 10,500 rpm rev limiter would be around 193 kmh.

Sorry, but this is not how it works, even if you're right about all the above prices.

Price of individual parts of a product =/= Full price of a product

Why would Bajaj pay KTM any royalty for making Dukes for them? Its not Bajaj Duke !! Its a KTM!! And anyways, the engine has been co-developed by both companies in India itself, so neither one would be paying the other any Royalty per se.. But if tomorrow TVS or Hero wishes to use the engine, they would have to pay Royalty (because they are neither a group company, nor were co-developer of technology)

As far as I know, the frame is the same, but the material is not. So it will cost more than that used in 200.

The engine upgrade cant be just 10k. It is not like they are reboring 200 to 375cc. It is a fully redesigned engine. Also, when the engine capacity increases the other components like engine head, valve train, exhaust should be redesigned accordingly. They will also need bigger throttle body to fuel the bigger engine and also a different airfilter. One may say that the extra cost addon as compared to duke 200 parts may not be much but they should also recover the backend costs, the salaries paid for engineers for the R&D So ex-showroom price of around 2.3L makes sense.

    Rs 10000 for Engine upgrade
Read somewhere saying that Engine on Duke 390 is quite different from that on Duke 200. Duke 390 needs to handle more load or pressure which needs to have better parts inside it. Just increasing bore or stroke does not help.

The frame on both 200 and 390 is same IMO!
