Now the question is having 400cc and getting only 160kmph as top end is not digestible !
Lets see people's review on this after buy...
It's not about what the top speed is, it's how you get there :P

Duke 390, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. O_O

Looks like i'm gonna keep the Daytona plans on hold and go with the 390 for now.

This video is mind tilting. it have some decision altering power. Butcher bike this is. Some times a single can do that.
Can buy one as an ever lasting city bike. 165 is very acceptable top speed for a bike that reaches there this fast.
This is not a Touring Tool (TT?), But this one can fit perfectly in any garage, as the daily fun bike.

These kind of bikes are mainly for blasting the twisties and zipping around in cities.. they are not really highway mile munchers, so having a high top speed wont be KTM's design focus. But one can change the gearing with sprockets and with proper windshields & a heavier rider it might be able to do more.

Yeah it was sounding way too different.. just saw the official D390 video again, the exhaust note seems to be very similar to D200 in that
Anyways lets see the real deal once it is out!

@somen, I believe the intended crowd would know that its a naked bike and its characteristics. acceleration, flickability, fun.plus the price at which we get this hopefully.I think 160 is good enough for max touring speeds in India.want more-they could wait for cbr400/500 which will be priced significantly more with better top speed stability and comfort.

Going by your logic the Duke 690 should do 230+ easy peasy

I don't see the 390 doing anything more than 170 at the most!

@Adarsh: I wouldn't go too much by the sound in the video

Possibly, the first bike says what all accessories can KTM provide as powerparts?
Most of them are already available for KTM Duke 200 on Powerparts website.

    1. Stickers
    2. Crash guard
    3. Crash bobbin/pad in the swing-arm
    4. Sear cowl
    5. Wind Shield
    6. Hand guard

    and Black alloys ??

    Holy crap!!!
And that's with bad gear shifting, it actually makes a pause at around 80 kmh!
0-80 kmh was like in 3.5 sec...

Damn, I already wrote Duke 390 off my upgrade map because of "supposed" 2.5 lakhs price (we'll know for sure tomorrow), but after seeing this video..... Argh, how to resist not getting it??? Damn you KTM, you'll bankrupt me!

    200 Duke - 125 kg

    390 Duke - 139 kg

    690 Duke - 149 kg

    990 Duke - 186 kg

KTM has designed the 990 Duke with 186 kg comparatively Yamaha FZ 1 - 214 kg and Hyosung GT650N - 208 kg

So If we can accept 990 Duke with 186 kg then for sure we can accept the KTM's dry weight engineering for 390 Duke as well

139Kg is dry weight so it isn't as scary as I thought

    Its MAD MAD MAD quick

I am not able to sleep tonight... its that quick

About the sound, I think its the "GoPro effect" making it sound like that!
