I though BAL was always gung ho about the 200NS to never have the full faired version and that duties to be done by thier next big bike.Originally posted by Shibadip View Post

Emphasizing on the bold word, the above sentence surely brings a great smile on my face..(and if u have good memory, then u will know why??Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post- Would definitely be a faired bike so more pricey
)
But someone in the 2013 bike speculation thread very confidently said and linked some "Not so trustrable" sites that bajaj wud not be producing Faired bikes, and have shelved the idea of introducing P200 SS in the near future. P375 wud also be a Naked bike like 200NS
Can u please throw some light on this..

At max a small margin over the Duke390
At least a small margin over the Duke 200

^^ do you mean to say, P375 will be priced higher than Duke390?? just because, it will have fairing..

What makes you guys so sure that the Duke390 will be available in Indian ONLY with ABS. The pricing was for the non ABS version,
For the ABS model, add another 15-20K may be...
Sirohi! We shall meet soon...
Pulsar 375
- Should have the same chassis as the P200NS
- Could borrow parts from the Duke 200
- Would definitely be a faired bike so more pricey
Logically, I dont see the pricing to exceed the pricing of Duke 390 by a huge margin. And yet undercut Hondas price tag.
Gee... I really think BAL has a huge trump card up thier sleeve!

I also agree that Duke 390 must be priced under 2 Lakh OTR. It is sharing almost everything with Duke 200 except bigger engine and ABS and these two things should not cost so much as to take it beyond 2 Lakhs.

@ Satyen P: bro, if we really get Duke 390 at 1.6 to 1.75 lakhs, not only me but the whole biking fraternity in india will be happy, and i will thank you for guessing it correctly. i only wrote what i feel will be appropriate pricing w.r.t. product positioning in market and i seriously pray to god that i should be wrong.
since you have told us your views on duke pricing, we would also like to know your views on P375 pricing and other details if you are aware.
regarding, you hunting me down and shooting, that will give us an opportunity to meet, isn't it.

Nice try, but you forgot ABS. If Honda can price CBR250 ABS @ 2 lakhs with paltry 25ps (compared to Duke 390), why is it you want Duke 390 @1.6 lakhs? Besides Duke 200 is almost 1.5 lakh OTR now. If Bajaj prices it below 2 lakh ex-show room, sure there will be lot of takers. But, that doesn't mean Duke can't be priced above 2 lakhs ex-show room, it's got everything to be priced above 2 lakhs. Why CBR250, even Ninja 250 will find it tough to convince buyers once Duke 390 is here.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostDear Bajaj,
The Duke has NOTHING more than the Duke 200. The way I see its pricing is this
1. New Stickers +15Rs
2. New Block Set + 5000Rs
3. New Suspension + 8000Rs
4. Old Block set - 3500Rs
5. Old Suspension - 6000Rs
Net change 3500Rs.
Add 200% Profit to it and price the Duke 390 for 151000+ 10500Rs
= 161500Rs ONLY!
Gee anything more than 1.75 and BAL has lost the plot! I would be surprised to see the CB250 in India when Duke 390 goes competitive!

Meanwhile else where in the world the rules are making technologies like ABS a mandate while on xBhp a moderator has to start a thread quoting some member and justifying how cheaper is better and justifiable.. :P
Why is FI expensive?
Wouldnt it be cheaper if the world has to enforce FI as a mandate?
Wouldnt it mean economies of scale if both the 200NS and Duke200 sport similar FI tech?
Wouldnt it mean economies of scale if both the 200NS and Duke200 sport similar suspension and braking setups?
Then again Duke isnt really 2020 tech, its considered as a cheap VFM KTM built according to the EU standard. A cheaper Brembo, A cheaper WP, A cheaper this and a cheaper that.
And mind you, Cheap isnt really "Bad"
The Pulsar is cheaper than the Cheap Duke. It is an exciting proposition with similar performance, delivered in a much cheaper price tag than the cheap duke. Does it make bad? I dont think so, it makes it incredibly good. Does it make it comparable with the Hondas and the Kawasaki build qualities? Not yet. But that could change.
Coming back to the Duke 390. 2.5Lakhs? Seriously? Prince I would hunt you down and shoot you between your eyes for suggesting that.

Yes I am aware of that, and that is exactly why I mentioned the part in the bold in the quoted post below.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostOnce again you have used specs from the 2012 Duke 200 (the one mentioned on the India website). The one mentioned on the international websites is the 2013 Duke 200 ABS. Could you add another column and add those details for a clearer picture.

The only discrepancy so far being the seat height of the Duke 200 which is 810mm and ground clearance which is 165mm on the India website, whereas the international websites show 800mm and 170mm respectively.
Anyways, here's a new link to see the India website and International website...

Frame is still different in D200 and D390. While D390 has "Frame made from Chrome molybdenum steel", D200 has Tubular space frame made from steel tubes, .Originally posted by antz.bin View PostOnce again you have used specs from the 2012 Duke 200 (the one mentioned on the India website). 390 Duke comes with 5/8 x 1/4"(520) X-Ring drive chain. Would this offer better reliability/performance
