There are three sparks two below the DTS-i text and one above slightly offset to the right.

Nice clarification

hey guys, first of all its good to be back in xbhp threads after nearly a month and first of all kudos to bajaj....and now whats all the commotion about the DTS-i logo... if you ask me i have got only one explanation for this.i am guessing BAL seems to be using the DTS-i suffix as a technological brand name for the their indigenous developed version of the universal TWIN SPARK PLUG engine technology and which that they have and had developed (originally for the first time in india)specifically for usage within their own products and platform. Now once bajaj only had this tech so they used the dtsi as technology name, but now things have changed because nowadays manufactures like royal enfield, and tvs motors also utilize their own versions of twin spark plug technology. So this move by other fellow competitors may have compelled bajaj to distinguish their twins spark technology from the others. This COULD HAVE made bajaj to use its technology name DTSi as a distinct technology BRAND name.
Now coming to the point, my guess is that they could have started using this DTS-i brand name as a PARENT technological brand name for the engine technologies developed by bajaj which utilize more than 1 spark plugged ignition. You might have noticed one thing on the new NEXT GENERATION Discover 125st, that bajaj had recently revealed that, on its engine case it is now written DTSi TWIN SPARK. And the point is DTS-i is the parent/mother brand and twin spark and triple spark indicate two separate its now under the same technological brand DTSi and its TWIN SPARK to indicate twin plug technology and TRIPLE SPARK in the p200's engine case as the engine unit uses 3 spark plugs in one cylinder for ignition...i hope my point is clear. ie in simple terms again,it could be like 2 sub technologies under ONE DTSi technology mother brand with the first TWIN SPARK being the basic tech and the second TRIPLE SPARK being its more advanced next version of it .
again i would like to add the fact that this is just what i THINK it means....and as usual i would like to add the statement that i could be wrong...

@Dman Actually, the 2nd Generation Honda City(in India) with a 4-cylinder 1.5 liter 85bhp i-DSI engine also had 2 spark plugs/cylinder. Those things came out a few months *before* the first Pulsar DTSi did. Interestingly, Quite like the Pulsars, that particular Honda City is still known for the high FE it managed compared to even its more modern Competition.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

(sorry for going OT over here guys) i am also aware of the honda city, as in fact i think the test drive report of the same/ (was it of the honda accord ?) also came in the overdrive magazine issue which covered the story of the advent of pulsar dtsi twins also.i have still kept that copy of overdrive as a treasure as it had the TD reports of the pulsar dtsi twins..
@ antz.bin i only meant to say that when it comes to twin spark tech from the bajaj stable, it seem to come under the dts-i technology mother brand.
as this seem to make sense (for me) as far as the labeling on the engine case goes on the p200ns and discover 125st.
