Only the block pistons are common so the engine being offered as an upgrade to enfield users is ruled out(Modified chassis required for it).The crankcase, con rods, crankshaft, oil pump and other parts are all custom made.He is going to send it to ARAI for testing and certification. The block piston will also be different in the final production version.

He is planning to start his own company in a few years to produce the bike.I know the power output of the engine but he asked me to wait for the completion of testing and homologation processes before I could reveal its complete specs.

Almost all bikes sold in India I think are technically thumpers, aside from Ninja250 and imports. Seems like he's working on twin cylinders. So it cannot be a thumper. If I'm not mistaken, a single cylinder motorcycle is described as a thumper.

Chassis is an aluminium pipe derivative of the backbone type chassis.Body work is being designed by him and he is secretive about the same.He is planning to open a company. He already makes performance parts for friends(Cams, crankshafts, etc.) although that is only his hobby he basically runs a metal-casting company which is his main business.I am not sure if a v-twin can be made a thumper.

according to me a thumper is a bike which produced thumping sounds....dug-dug-dug....bullet.

if a multicylinder engine also produces a similar sound, it can also be called a thumper.

don't know the technicalaties, but bikes like CD100 should not be called thumpers.

I guess, some might consider a CD dawn hardly a motorcycle . Considering its more of a moped without pedals. Anyway google "what is a thumper motorcycle". You'll pretty much get a good idea. On other hand I personally find almost all single cylinder motorcycles sold in India going dub..dub..dub. Including ninja250. I dearly want one that goes vroom

From what I understand, thumper is a term used for long stroke big singles (which characteristically produce that dug dug dug or dhak dhak dhak sound).

I would deffer here fomr most of all!!

Thumper is mostly a Single cylinder big engine bikes which were run on un-advanced technology!! And when the blocks use to hit inside the psiton then there use to be a thump feeling to the rider with a noise!!

We get many kind of silencers for getting this sounds, but thump is the beating of block below our seat and the feel of that block continous hitting!! All old RE's where mainly know for this thump beat!!

mmm...didn't think it was necessary to specifically mention that Ninja250 had two cylinders as it is well known. But guess some people requires that . But on the bright side, it still goes dub..dub..dub .
