As its a 5 year old thread, can some one tell whether the highway is completed or not?

WTF! If its 5 year old thread, there is no progress!

i think u didnt get my point. i asked that this so called news about that highway started 5 years ago. and wanted to know whether this highway is completed during this period of 5 years. u said "there is no progress" do u mean that the construction of highway had no progress?

Whoa! Quite a co-incidence there! My friend and I were just starting to plan a trip *via* Myanmar. Final Destination (hope the trip is nothing like the movie :P) Cambodia ex Bangalore. Anyway, searched forums for 'Burma' and found this ancient thread and wondered to myself if anyone did manage a successful trip. Saw your post and thought to myself "hope it worked out well for this dude" before I saw how old (new?) the post is!

Any progress on the planning front? Our timeline is more relaxed than yours though... we're thinking of starting sometime in July (three month notice to quit job - hopefully after a hike letter in April , some time on course in bike repair, visas and papers etc.).

While there has been no progress on the proposed highway, there is a motorable road all the way from Singapore>Malaysia>Cambodia>Vietnam>Thailand>Myanmar>India. Barring a few ( ok more than a few ) stretches in Myanmar, the rest is said to be fairly doable. A couple of rallies have been flagged off , starting/ending in Guwahati. The last one concluded in 17th Dec 2012, Guwahati Car Rally | ASEAN India.

Re: India to Thailand: BY ROAD!!!!

The road has still remained a dream yet... Just wanted to tell you folks to count me in, if and whenever this or any other pan Asian escapade is planned from xBhp. Until then... Dream of a day of riding through the mystique of the seven sisters by the evergreen forests of Myanmar and to the beaches of Pattaya.
