Your's & my reasonable speculation is not same as everyone else's!!! I really don't want to see xBhp walking the path of facebook groups...do you? We don't even know if Honda is bringing this bike in India, are they going to import it or make it locally or not even bringing it.

Yes, other than HMI supplying the parts, wide spread ASC & locally made motorcycle that is affordable, Honda does not have upper hand!!!

I wish to clarify things here - here is what is the Price of CBR in US market (have manually changed Dollars to Rupee at current dollar rate)
CBR 250R (Without ABS) - $4100 -> Rs. 221400
CBR 250R (with ABS) - $ 4699 -> Rs. 253746
Price in India -
CBR 250R (Without ABS) - $4100 -> Rs. 168966 (On road chennai)
CBR 250R (with ABS) - $ 4699 -> Rs. 197679 (on road channai)

There is a Huge price gap between Indian and US market i.e. almost Rs 55000 (approx) which means atleast $1000 difference. Now when speculators (that includes me) suggest that a CBR500R which costs $5999 (Rs 3,23,946) in US might costs just under 3L , I thinks assumption is very much logical provided its made entirely the same process as 250R.

I am not saying that this is true to my knowledge - but when we speculate we come up with a number which sound reasonable if things goes as we wish . Honda will have no upper hand if they do it any other way, they have very limited options left when Duke 390, Ninja 300 and speculated Yamaha 250 might have taken the ship and will land up on Indian shore anytime next year

I'm a sucker for multi-cylinders...so let's hope that the optimism of aggressive pricing translates into reality. It will atleast wake up Bajaj and Kawasaki who instead of making the baby Ninja more affordable are intent on taking it further away from the grasp of riders like me
Also, as all of the 500s seem to be aimed at emerging markets rather than Europe and established Asia, we can hope. Even a starting price of 3.5L for the CB 500F will be stunning, and the only way that can happen is if they're manufactured in India.

Coming to the bikes themselves, yes they do look 'safe' and... er docile. Upside is the appeal will be broad and there's not much that can offend anyone. Downside- Equipment seems spartan even if compared to D200 and designs look previous-gen already.
I like the practicality aspect- Look at the seats on that 500R- pretty comfy and accommodating. Should be the most practical faired big bike alongwith the N650.

And that CB1100 is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!
Personally I like the 500F...so If anyone from Honda is listening, rest assured I'll be saving up if you hit the pricing sweet spot

Not impressed with the 500RR, Ninja 300 looks killer. The 500X seems interesting though.

I would rather put my 3.5 lacs in N300 which gives me fun simlar to supersport rather tha buying this ugly copy of CBR1000RR.

Don't know what is the problem with people who're speculating? Price mentioned in website are $5500 & $6000, which is equivalent to 3.05 Lakhs to 3.3 Lakhs. That too at a stage when HMSI hasn't even announced if the CBR 500 series is even getting launched in India!!!

Why would Honda price anything more in US & favorable here? Is that to to make a ruckus later stating the prices are not good & not VFM?

I say....Honda is definetly going for kill. A parallel twin 500cc at 3 lacs below if very good.

My 2.5 lacs are aside for 500f.

The new 600rr is fantastic, beautiful. I love the touch of retro-ness in the styling. Just fantastic. The new variant of goldwing is smashing and so are the 500s.

600rr looks like a retrogression from the current model.

500cc parallel twin from honda for 3lacs would be nice

500x seems to be the interesting piece of the lot - Seems like a poorman's Multistrada

In all honesty, i am not really impressed, only the 500x looks interesting, 600rr looks disproportionate, rather ugly, somethings are best when left alone.

Well,

Honda is slowly doing global launches of a lot of its products so fingers crossed if we do see the 500 series constructed in the local platform they would be literally the first one to introduce 500cc in sports and urban+sports category. I just hope that Honda India has learned from the mistakes that were made with Honda CBR250R. No doubt it is a good bike but always being a pain to maintain with non availability of spares.

If they do intend to launch 500R in India, i better start filling my coffers and if needed will buy all the essential spares before i get this bike

If i am correct there are currently no bhp restrictions in India, we can either expect 54 bhp version or the detuned one say 47 bhp UK spec model to run on local 91 RON fuel like Ninja that is ofcourse if they launch in India. I recon the top speed with parallel twin revvy engine should be 180-200+ kmph and for FE hungry Junta it should be in the range of 20-30 kmpl based on cues from Ninja 250R

It is obviously possible because since cbr 250r is made in India, Honda can do it again. "May be" sharing some parts between them will further bring down the maintenance cost. They can easily attack Ninja "in India" because of Ninja's higher price and higher maintenance cost. Plus as there is "speculation" of Yamaha 250r entering in our market, they will try to keep it competitive. Still a price tag of 3.5 lacs to 4.00 lacs for cbr 500r with ABS will be better to keep margin between 250r and 500r. And since CB500F is naked version, it is "obvious" that cost cutting can be done.
We can recall that at what price they were selling Hyosung GT 650r (naked version).

CB500X would be a interesting sports touring bike for india :-)
