Mahindra to launch a Whole New Range of Motorcycles in the first week of January
This is so disappointing, if this is the reason for all this secrecy on part of xBhp it seems we have all been stabbed in the back by Mahindra 1stly for revealing the bike before 5th, secondly for trying to create too much hype for no reason
I as well as many of us here were waiting for a redesigned mojo. Both bikes in the picture are not worth all this hype. The design and quality of both bikes seem questionable too. Both seem to be standard 100 cc bikes with self starts. Two more join the page long commuter list. shees.
Mahindra’s second bike, the Centuro, has a marginally longer wheelbase than the Pantero and will roll out soon after the latter’s launch. Positioned as a premium 110cc bike, the Centuro is loaded with features that are not present even in premium segment bikes in the country such as central locking, anti-theft system with an engine immobiliser, remote 128-bit encrypted flip-key with LED lights, find me lights to locate the bike in crowded parking lots and guide lamps that continues to illuminate as one walks away from the bike after parking it.
It was all Ok for giving the above features, (and I am really liking it!!) in our XUV500.. (Considering it's kind of a premium segment car, and also have the strong heart under the Hood to compliment those luxuary features..
But such features in a 110cc bike!!
It like Hrithik Roshan on the screen, but with the acting of Tushar Kapoor!!!!!!
My Apologies to Hrithik fans for even putting his name here
sigpic
Relationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

These features could very well be a trademark on all premium Mahindra 2 Wheeler products to roll out in the future as the Indian bike-maker has claimed a patent for these technologies. Additionally, the bike also comes with LED tail and pilot lamps, white fully-lit digital instrument cluster with service and distance-to-empty fuel indicator.
these are nice features but i want to understand, what is central locking on a bike..?? and how can they claim a patent, is it like first time on a 110 CC two-wheeler..??
btw, the 5th Jan suspense by moderators is over, i guess...
now the only thing left is a ride report with awesome pics...XBHP ishtyle... or is there any more CC in hiding anywhere...??

By just applying common sense, one can make out that these bikes will be competing with likes of the Splendor and Discovers. How on earth can anybody even think of selling models like this?
To be honest, I think Mahindra did the right thing by launching such bikes in a time like this. There are two types of people in India - Bikers and Commuters. This is a motorcycle for commuters and not bikers. The customer base is significantly higher. And commuters look for either the most feature or the cheapest rich mileage bike available to them and typically stick to 100cc to 125cc range. As the purchasing power increases, commuters are willing to pay a lot of money for commuter bikes. This is why an overpriced dream yuga or a passion pro sells so much. And some features ordinary bikers will never appreciate as much as pure commuters do, like hazard lights in TVS Phoenix, anti-theft system, immobilizer and find-me lights in Centuro, the large seat in Shine/DreamYuga, etc.
The only thing that put me off from these bikes is the absence of front disc brakes (compulsory in ALL bikes I believe) and Hazard Lights (after 2013 thunderbird and Phoenix 125, I think everyone should start including these) with which Centuro would become the perfect commuter.
Lets see what Bajaj has in store for us on Monday then in this new feature-rich mileage commuter turf war. Mahindra has taken the game to a new level, and I'd love to see Bajaj exceed it...
PS: Someone mentioned that the Mojo project has been mostly scrapped off. I guess the Centuro's 2 golden pipes are Mahindra engineers' way of saying goodbye and paying tribute to their stillborn child...
