Bajaj will be launching a new 100 cc feature rich motorcycle on 7th January 2013.
Bajaj auto is planning to launch a new 100cc bike by october to complete with Honda's Dream Yuga and Hero Moto's 100cc breed. The bike's code name is D-104, which gives us all the impression of a 104cc discover. It is said that the bike will impose babaj's latest technology and will have a front disk brake with digital console on board.sigpicTags: None

Bajaj Auto to unveil most expensive, technologically advanced 100cc bike in January
100 cc pulsar anyone? I guess this one will come with three spark plugs and mono shock.COIMBATORE: Bajaj AutoBSE -0.65 % will come out with the most expensive and technologically advanced bike in the 100 cc segment in January, a top company official said today.
"Besides being the most expensive motorcycle in the 100CC segment, it will also be technologically most advanced bike," Bajaj Auto President (Motorcycle Business) K Srinivas told reporters here.
However, he refused to reveal the price tag, saying the price is not the news, but technologically most advanced is.
Currently, Bajaj Auto sells 100cc bikes under the Platina and Discover range, which are priced between Rs 38,990-44,497.
The company had claimed in September that its Discover model had overtaken Hero MotoCorp's Splendour as the world's largest selling motorcycle, with sales of 1.22 lakh against Splendour's 1.21 lakh.
On Bajaj's performance, Srinivas said the company has registered an increase in growth despite a minus one per growth in the industry. In the second quarter of the current fiscal, its market share stood at 27 per cent.
It was also encouraging to note that sales had grown by six per cent in the last seven days being the festive season, a good sign as far as the entire industry was concerned, he said.

Personally, since the last 2 years, I've been dreaming that Bajaj would get a 90~cc motorcycle with Fuel injection, mild tuning, about 6.5-7 PS power and a lightweight setup, so that they could achieve higher, almost impossible-seeming numbers of mileage like a realistic 100 kmpl and so.
I think that might NOT be the case here, and I realistically expect this bike to come with a Monoshock-like setup. This might be easiest for them, as the frame is already there from Discover 125 ST. But only time can tell what it will be.---

A new brand altogether or a new version of an existing model...I think that the could have the following specs:
> Digi Console
> Mono shocks
> Under belly silencer (I know its a lot to imagine
)
> Fuel Injection (very slim chances, but they said it to be most expensive)
> Back-lit switches
> Tri-spark(a very high probability because if BAL have developed this tech, the would be using it somewhere)
It'll be either tri-spark or FI. Higher probability of Tri-spark.
In short, a collage of existing techs. I'm not anticipating any new technology in this one.

Without FI, you can't use the word most technologically advanced. There is no 100 cc engine in India that has Fuel Injection. I certainly feel, there will be fuel injection in the bike.
Also they might have meant about the three spark plugs in 100cc that they call most technologically advanced. After all there are no three spark plugs in a 100 cc engine in the world.

probably 100cc 2-stroke with gdi , its expensive , and more technologically advanced than anything its competitors can cook up for some time, besides shoving additional spark-plugs into the head is not catchy anymore also they have autos running around without any issues with the same techKawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html

Bajaj cannot dilute the Pulsar Brand with 100 cc. Even P135 was an overstrech. (Even Bajaj thinks that Pulsar cannot be extended beyond 400 CC so it cannot even go down further). Except for 4 sparks and inverted front suspension other features listed might be possible. Instead of tri spark they might come with FI becos when P200NS was launched Bajaj made it clear that this technology will not percolate down untill Puslar comes with some other new technology. Trispark is exclusive to high end pulsars.Originally posted by Satyamzma View PostPulsar 100 NS -:

At the start of this year (2012) I would've been a definite customer for such a bike. Did 65km daily and 1 litre per day would've been awesome on my pocketOriginally posted by Samarth 619 View PostTopic Approved.
I like being realistic, and the only obvious choice I see from Bajaj w.r.t a product to launch is the Discover 100 ST. They needn't launch another brand. They needn't build a new chassis.I think that might NOT be the case here, and I realistically expect this bike to come with a Monoshock-like setup. This might be easiest for them, as the frame is already there from Discover 125 ST. But only time can tell what it will be.
Here is my expectations:
- 80+ company claimed mileage
- 4-valve
- 104cc (D104 codename floating around hence the guess)
- DTSi
- 10.8 PS power (proportional to 125cc Discover 125 ST's 13 PS power)
- 9NM of Torque (again using above proportionality)
- Mono suspension at rear (this may or may not be present depending on if its cheaper to produce for Bajaj or not)
This wouldn't come with either FI or TripleSpark because FI only makes sense in larger bikes, and TripleSpark was mainly designed because of Pulsar 200NS having a really large surface area for its bore that made 2 spark plugs insufficient to ensure near-total combustion.
Expect pricing in Discover 125 (non ST old model) zone. This will be a 100cc bike fighting with low end 125cc bikes the same way D125ST is a 125cc bike fighting with low end 150cc bikes.
My assumption of 104cc makes more sense considering the fact that 10.8PS power and 9NM torque seems just adequate to take the fight to low end 125cc bikes.
Now for some more whimsical thinking (mid to long term, by 2014-ish):
- Older non 4-valve bikes gradually phased out completely (including discover 100 4G, Discover 125 and Discover 150)
- All future Discover and Pulsar range with mono suspension at rear
- Pulsar 135LS upgraded with mono rear suspension
- Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220F phased out in favor of KTM-Bajaj family engine (Duke 125cc to Duke 200cc block) based bikes
- Boxer BM100 launched to sit where Discover 100 4G was before in performance (and lower in price segment)
