Anyhow, the launch sounds exciting. The cheapest thing they could do is to relaunch the Pulsar 135 with a monoshock. The second cheapest thing is to make the Pulsar 150 and/or 180 into 4-valve products and give them each a bump in power. But hopefully Bajaj will take the most exotic path - reuse tech from KTM. A carburetted Pulsar 125NS sounds awesome indeed.

I believe you may have gotten it wrong there with the Apache 180 vs Pulsar 180 comparison. If you take a look at on-road pricing (I did in Bangalore), Apache 160 competes with Pulsar 180 on price, while Apache 180 competes with the Pulsar 220 on price.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post

According to me bajaj will launch a very advanced 165-180cc bike with 4 valve, mono-shock, 18-20bhp power to tap that 81,000-87,000rs/- segment which is dominated by fz brothers at present as p180 is aging very fast whereas rtr face lift is a weird looking machine which ha'nt gone down well with people. Most probably it will be a good seller for bajaj as buyers will get a good design with better mileage, power and top speed than fz and p180....On the basis of my speculation bajaj will finally say good bye to current p180 and create a comfortable space for a new bike.
As far as p150 is concerned, its still selling in good numbers with no major threat and that is why priority for bajaj should be a segment where they are continuously loosing market share to fz series.sigpic

+1, completely agree with you. There is no reason why Bajaj should update P150/180, coz inspite of all the newer competition, they are pretyy much selling in the same numbers. That means competition isn't formidable enough/offering enough to take on Pulsar brand as far as the average buyer is concerned.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostAccording to me bajaj will launch a very advanced 165-180cc bike with 4 valve, mono-shock, 18-20bhp power to tap that 81,000-87,000rs/- segment which is dominated by fz brothers at present as p180 is aging very fast whereas rtr face lift is a weird looking machine which ha'nt gone down well with people. I too feel that smaller pulsar will be more like a 160NS (somewhere between 150-180), that will be seen as smaller/smallest NS with all the tech that's seen on 200NS i.e. discs on front & rear, liquid cooling, perimeter frame, triple spark etc. I don't think P150/180 are going to be phased out. As Rajiv Bajaj himself said that in Indian market, there is no phasing out of products. When the time comes market itself phases out a product. So, Bajaj will continue selling P150/180 as long as they bring in numbers/profit for them.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

I love 200ns to bits, still I'd say that it is a bit of a 'big' bike. has a ride height like an adventure bike of sorts, yet it isn't one.
What if they make a 200 cc pulsar that's not so big on physique? there's no harm in dreaming..
Practically speaking though, it seems a new 180cc is upon us, with the engine they were threatening to put on ktm.

Holy smokes! Just look at the amount of attention Bajaj is getting nowadays!
If I were asked for an opinion, I'd say release a semi-faired pulsar with a fuel injected 165 cc 4-valve air/LC engine. Should give a good competition to R15, CBR150, Fz and fazer on the basis of performance. Price? That'd definitely eat into the market of R15 and CBR150. I'd also say, don't release a 180 cc pulsar loaded with goodies, it would probably eat into the 200NS market.
OT- Bajaj, if you're constantly looking at this forum, we'd like to see fuel-injected 200NS from now on, and if possible, upgrades for the existing ones!Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 04-13-2013, 04:29 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.
