Last Sunday during a practice session, S. Dinesh had a crash at the MMRT in Irungattukottai.
He was in hospital in a critical condition for the last few days. It has been learned that he passed away on Wednesday morning after succumbing to his injuries. He had suffered a serious injury to his head as said by the doctors attending to him.
The accident happened at Corner 7, as he slid out of control and onto the run off area. The run off area has a ditch in which Dinesh landed badly hurting himself. There was no medical aid at the race track and the Dinesh's team had to take him to hospital.
MMRC has been petitioned by the riders group to improve medical facilities at the tracks, they have promised to look into the matter and improve the situation.
