    They could have called it the SZ-R+. No, wait - they wouldn't - Hero Motors would sue them for using the '+' moniker.
    Maybe, SZ-R2? No, people will start thinking Yamaha upped the SZR to 200cc!

          @ Prince: Thanks for echoing my thoughts. I couldn't have put them that way though. I don't know what to say...

          We criticized bikes like 2011 Ninja 650R for using just a single "R" and not being sporty "enough". Guess that will not happen again.

          Even if they would've given it a Sporty Seating Posture, with low handlebars and rear set footpegs, it would've been understood, even if engine was the exact same as SZ-R. In fact, such minor change could've been accepted from Yamaha. And we would've got a unique bike: A medium capacity low cost bike that atleast "feels" racy.

          But look at those double gear levers, that commuterish riding position, that huge rear brake lever. And then the "RR".

            Tail of SZ-RR is looking sexy because of new grab rails whereas speedometer is looking weird to me, its looking very flashy and totally inspired from suzuki hayate and honda twister. Interesting part here is, both the versions are now coming with disc brakes as standard. Sadly, they have discontinued the white color in rr variant but now it will be available with s variant and both the variants will come with tvs tires as before. All in all you'll get a tachometer, stylish grab rails, new graphics, new side panel, smoked wind shield and 3d sz logo in additional 3000rs/-.....

              Well, the truth be told, I wasn't expecting anything more than a sticker job. That's the state of almost every manufacturer here.

                    Has Yamaha been operating in the lines of an official who was recently shifted from Bajaj to Yamaha? I must say, it is a bare attempt to bring Tom n Jerry together with this RR treat. we are having pop-corn any way

                      @Naveen1985,
                      It's not so clear though. Let me check with the local dealer.

                      EDIT: Checked with the local dealer. No EKS & Pass beam switch been added in sz-rr.

                        Yamaha says that India will be among the top 5 most important markets for the company by 2016.

                        The company will start sourcing components on a much larger scale from India. They plan is to launch 2-3 models every year.
