Care to explain the reason why that would be funny to you? Everyone is bashing them because the demands are unreasonable and/or illogical.Originally posted by saipranav View PostBajaj Pulsar 150 : 2004-2005

Well it's just that people these days have soo much knowledge of the society to decide what is reasonable and what is unreasonable or what is logical and what is illogical, just by reading a news article. It's my personal opinion that people tend to generalize according to their convenience, regardless of lack of knowledge on the subject matter and it's background or ground realities.
I'm not trying to say that anyone is right/wrong... if i offended anyone, i can delete that post... not interested in an online war over it :P

Sounds legit. Typical Indian scenario. You hit the nail on the head whymail. Im wondering, if people use their brains to do such twisty stuff, how come no one has thought up something just as twisty to overcome the bull crap that goes on...Originally posted by whymail View Postthis is bad news... especially a cunning & rascal'ish conspiracy planned by the union leaders - awaiting the official release of D390 & immediately thereafter this!
this is no coincidence & all these unions are funded / run / directed by political scums with sole intent to leech a company dry.
for the uninitiated, but there are 3 such zones in mumbai - [1] Wagle Estate - Thane, [2] Kothari Mills Compound - Thane & [2] MIDC Mhape - New Bombay - these industrial zones spanning several sq.kms. were once full of thriving workshops & manufacturing units run by small & medium enterprise entrepreneurs however labor / union troubles forced all these genuis of enterpreneurs to abandon their dreams & manufacturing plants for the better. these areas, today, have become ruins & haunted industrial plots where slum lords & charsi's take refuge to carry out their shady acts!
its sad that a bunch of selfish politicians and their chamchas control these unions & workers with vice-like grip & ultimately either get what they want or make the workers, owners & the company suffer & finally shut-shop!

Well, one doesn't need to be super knowledgeable or super intelligent to figure out that asking Rs. 900000 (NINE LAKH) worth of shares for 500 rupees is an unreasonable demand. Are you suggesting that there is a way in which this may be even remotely reasonable or logical? Please enlighten us all.Originally posted by saipranav View PostWell it's just that people these days have soo much knowledge of the society to decide what is reasonable and what is unreasonable or what is logical and what is illogical, just by reading a news article. i somewhat agree with saipranav, the reason is ground realities are often hidden and actual issues never reported by media.
maybe BAL is right, maybe workers are right. because in these type of situations, the real issues are often hidden.
but definitely it is sad incident.
maybe union leaders are funded by competitors ..who knows.

Apparently the 390s are only made at Chakan!! I am fine with a little extended waiting, but what I will never be fine with is any scumb*g that is trying to deliberately do shoddy work on the bike and I get a half arse piece. Such things are very common with labour strikes where workers deliberately sabotage the quality and workmanship of the product. It better not be the case here. I am not paying 2L for that!
I feel for majority of the workers who are threatened by these goons who call themselves union leaders. Giving away massive amount of free stock for pocket change? Did someone file a criminal case against the idiot that is demanding this? He should be castrated for dragging humanity to such utter levels of stupidity! Did he just come out of the Tora-Bora caves or something?

re: Bajaj Auto workers strike at Chakan plant: xBhp News
i am no anti-worker person... however anybody who knows even some level of company laws & has common sense, will understand that this is a public limited / listed company.
its shares have been hovering in the sub-1600 average range for several months now - a very stable & promising organization, this is!
shares / stock options for a listed company are perhaps the MOST valued assets of that company [unlike for start-ups whose ESOP value is mostly nothing more than that of a toilet-paper]
just imagine, employees demanding say 10000 shares of microsoft or google @ its management... or even infosys, for that matter.
such demands are, by law, illegitimate.
clearly, this is a larger conspiracy of a handful of nincompoops & selfish people.
going by analysis of similar historical events, this also has a political vendetta underlying to it.
such cases, often spiral out of control & get downright dirty but in the end, its only the common worker who suffers.
the notorious strike @ Premier Automobiles or the Tata Mercedes Benz facility or over dozens of those textile manufacturing mills sprinkled all over mumbai, are all mute witnesses to such horrendous tragedies.
the union leaders, the local goons, the underlying politicians & the company management do not get as much impacted by this, the way the workers do.
in the interest of everybody, i hope & pray that this crisis is resolved amicably...
we have had enuff examples of failed entrepreneurs due to union / labor troubles... lets this one be the one of those that epitomizes the success, if not otherwise!Last edited by whymail; 06-29-2013, 01:37 PM.◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

the pimpri & chakan are 2 of the BAL's largest facilities. labor trouble @ either of these locations directly translates as unquantifiable delays across all models

Bajaj Auto, workers harden stance as strike enters seventh day
Bajaj Auto strike does not appear to be coming to a close anytime soon as the management and labour unions are not willing to budge from their respective stance.
Pradeep Shrivastava, chief operating officer at Bajaj Auto,“We will not bow down to threats and coercion,”
Dilip Pawar, president of the workers’ union, the Vishwa Kalyan Kamgar Sangathan (VKKS), was equally adamant. The company is not willing to talk to the workers until they do not unconditionally stop the strike.“Our demands are genuine and will continue to fight for it.”

The only valid demand as far as i can see is improving working conditions. They are already getting a 8% wage hike and I don't see why that's a reason for an allout strike, specially considering that Auto Industry as a whole has seen very small and very few hikes this year. re: Bajaj Auto workers strike at Chakan plant: xBhp News
In further development of the labour strike at the Chakan Plant, Bajaj has decided to shift production of its flagship Pulsar brand to Aurangabad.
Workers are being shifted from PantNagar to Aurangabad to help with the increased production. These decisions were the result of a high level meeting between the top brass of the company.
Production still continues at Chakan, but only 1200 units are being produced everyday as against the normal 3000 units.

Even if the a solution is found soon, since this labor issue has started at Chakan, there is more than a possibility of it happening something in the future again.
