The height of rider was set for 6ft, inseam at 32" , rider's bum placement is on the centre of seat, and rider has streched about 95% of his arms!
I am 6ft so I forgot to mention it before[emoji4]

to be complete, it should mention rider height for which the above illustration is intended..i am about 5.7/8 in height and am more leaned forward on my R15v2 than what the above picture seems to show...rider height matters in these things.

The RC gets a a shorter wheelbase ,a 1 degree bump in steering head angle and more ground clearance to make it sportier than the duke. And that's it.
Save these, the spec sheet is same and you'd actually think it's for the same bike

So the RC is just that, s seductress realizing you can seduce even more with clothes on than stark naked!!

PS : I do understand that there may be differences in the power/torque curve owing to a different map, but you can do only so much with no hardware change and only software!! I am not saying being the same as duke would put RC at any disadvantage.In fact the duke loses as a result of that!

Bajaj's dealer conference for the KTM bike to be launched next is in Sept. So a launch could be a couple of months later

Reportedly, the gear ratios will differ and seemingly the mid-range torque will increase (oriented towards track performance). The RC may/most likely will come with a different ECU map which will account for a slightly different experience than its naked counterpart.

Yup agree to your point too.
RC200 will carry extra premium for Bajaj & 'IF' they discontinue Duke200 it will also bring exclusivity for Duke390 owners too.[emoji2]
Sometimes too many options can be mind boggling for the buyers, the same way too many offerings from Bajaj will surely give their marketing people a hard hard time..
As in their 1-2.5lakh range they have got a pretty big portfolio of bikes-
NS200 ₹95k-1lakh, 200SS ₹1.10-1.20(expected), Duke200 ₹1.50, RC200 ₹1.70-₹1.90(expected), Pulsar 400CS/SS below ₹2lakh(expected), RC390 ₹2.3-₹2.5 & let's not forget Honda, Yamaha (maybe) & TVS they too are folding their sleeves up for a good fight in this price range!!
Now the best we can do is wait & watch what exactly Bajaj's strategy is..
So it's gonna be fun (may be) for us bikers!!

Lol. Chalk and cheese? really? It's more like cheese and mayonnaise to me .

The same bike in different clothes. Engine remains exactly same. Frame remains the same(Minor difference may be in steering angle/rake ect, but I am not sure, need to check the specs). Gear box is the same. Same equipment(save the clip ons).I am sure the exhaust would sound the same. There isn't a huge difference between the two. Don't you think so? Frankly after the RC, the Duke would be a true enthusiasts bike, since RC would surely outsell the duke , thanks to the fairing.

I don't know how many 'posers' buy the duke 200, since the sales charts were not exactly on fire like the CBR's or the R15's are. I think they'll definitely launch the RC200, because it's a better profit proposition for KTM/Bajaj since definitely, it'll sell more(posers,fairing lovers , whatever!!). I don't think they can keep the premium huge over the duke 200, because a merely 50K gap is separating the duke 200 and duke 390. So unless they make the duke 390 pricier, they'd have to keep the RC200 at 1.75 max(just shy of the CBR250R standard). Now this means very few would buy the duke200, which makes me think, they'll pull the duke 200 out of production. Think of it, the cycle parts are all the same between the duke 200 and RC200 and the plastics are all shared with the duke 390, meaning there won't be any issues of providing parts support of a discontinued duke 200 .
That'd also mean exclusivity for the duke 200

Not sure if it will kill Duke 390 sales. Since though both are 390 they are like chalk and cheese. duke 390 will be more comfortable in comparison to RC390. RC390 is more of track bike. Typical sports bike with a seating position which is more slanted than even R15. Duke 390 is more of upright seating position and riding stance is better for touring compared to RC390. So it will boil down to personal preferences. People will still buy Duke 390 after RC390 launch.

RC390 would not affect the Duke390 sales by a large margin!!
As people who go for 390 very well know what they want, except some folks who wanted a proper affordable sportsbike but went for Duke390 as only option available for that much power & money!!
Whereas I think RC200 would eat up much of Duke200 sales as it would be a another option for posers who buy Duke200 & R15 just for that extra attention[emoji4]
I also have a strong feeling that Bajaj will surely demand some extra premium for RC200 as to save their Pulsar200SS, maybe they launch the RC200 for some1.85 or 1.9 lakh!!

I have a feeling it is going to cost close to 2.3 L ex showroom.. but will it kill the Duke sales? Of course few dont like faired bikes while few dont like naked bikes. But just a small thought running in my mind

2.5L on road pune or ex showroom? If this is ex showroom price one need to add another 30k depending on where you live.
